I’m on what would be the 3rd act. That game is about 20-30 hours too long. The difficulty spike towards the end is kinda insane too.
I’m cool with pretending the story ends after act 2. Don’t like what happens in 3

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is already starting off strong a few hours in.
Absolutely loved the main cast in the first game and they really shine here once again

I hope I can get back and finish LAD one day. The difficulty in it is somewhat a turn off though.

I'm excited to play this one, loved OG Like a dragon. I couldn't find if you can carry over characters (levels, jobs, skills, items) from OG like a dragon?

Nah you don't keep anything from the original. But at least some of those same jobs exist in this new sequel from what I've seen, and the first hour or so of the game is basically chilling with the main cast of the original, seeing what Ichiban's been doing and then a setup for the plot. By main cast I'm referring to Ichiban, Adachi, Nanba and Saeko.
Honestly the interactions between these characters is so good that watching them do anything is a lot of fun. One of the first story missions for example is preparing Ichiban for a date with Saeko and it's just as much fun as a more combat or plot driven mission.

Combat is basically a huge improvement on the first game. It's still turn-based, but your characters can move around during turns, as do the enemies. This allows for a lot more freedom to set up combos, environmental bonus damage etc. If you decide to play it, you'll notice the difference that movement addition makes.
I loved the first game's turn-based combat either way but these additions really take it to the next level.

Edit: Also, zero bugs or anything, at least not that I've noticed.
Voice acting is top tier across the board, at least in Japanese. I refuse to watch anything dubbed but I've heard this English dub is bearable, besides Kiryu's English voice actor being very grating.

I liked the Oninaki demo, but never committed to the purchase. Guess I wasn't the only one. Heard the game drags towards the middle through end, and people had to force their way through it.

I have it downloaded right now, just waiting to get through some other games first.

All three were available on PS Elite/Premium in 2023.

Lost Sphear was good as well, just not as good as Setsuna.

I reckon I'm a little over halfway into the new Yakuza Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Tbh I'd give this game a 10/10 already. I loved the story in the first one but this truly sets a new bar.
The plot, the twists, the characters, the interactions, ... All of it is genuinely masterful. Incredible voice acting too (in Japanese obviously). Especially Yamai's voice actor Takehito Koyasu, who you might know from voicing Dio in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Toji in Jujutsu Kaisen, ...
Assuming the story continues to maintain this level of quality, this is on par with a great tv show or movie's writing.
The side stories are on the goofy side, as expected, but not a single one has felt like a drag or anything.

I decided to enter the Yakuza world with Judgement and have been enjoying it. Got drunk and blew most my money in blackjack at the casino though :lol

Knew nothing about this game and had a friend show me it and decided to grab it on sale. Really been enjoying.

Like a more bleak and punishing Earthbound, but still maintains a good sense of humor and great soundtrack.
