As an homage to my 30th year of gaming, I decided to run back a few titles from my childhood. Most of which I've never beaten. A few takeaways from Sonic 2...

1a) I had no idea Super Sonic existed
1b) No way my elementary-school brain was getting through these boards without Super Sonic and/or a guide

2. Tails on the Special Stages

I replayed Sonic 2 on Sonic Origins last year. It's still my personal favorite Genesis-era Sonic game, but man... **** Metropolis Zone. Those praying mantis enemies and the placement of those star robots...

The music in Sonic 2 is still elite though. :pimp:

The first time I straight up beat Sonic 2 was as Knuckles, with the game attached to S&K. The game was much easier with him.

I probably didn’t beat S2 as Sonic(solo) until my early 20s. I was only able to beat it as a kid using the 19, 65, 9, 17 cheat. And the 1b, 9b, 9b 2b, 1b, 1b, 2b, 4b debug code. Tails was definitely a problem on special stages. That’s reason you probably never knew there was a Super Sonic lol. There was also a sort of Super Tails. Turn into Super Sonic, use debug code to turn into box, smash it and Tails get the Super powers.

I memorized hella cheat codes when I was a kid. As an adult I need a guide especially for GTA lol
Bro I was so disappointed when by twin boys were playing GTA games and I couldn’t get the health and weapons codes right lol. I walked in like a boss lol. But the controllers were the problem. Not as easy without a PS2 controller

Man I know some of it is nostalgia, but it feels like we really lost something with everything going digital.

Even if physical gaming media survives like records and blue rays, it'll never be the same.

Vinyl is probably the only thing that will survive.

Crazy due to how long it’s been around.

Them key cards for Switch 2 is a clear indicator where things are going.

I'm playing Dragon Ball GT: Transformation on Advance (solid beat 'em up) and of course, they have an "elevator level"

Did the elevator level originate with TMNT, or was there another game before my time that I'm unaware of?
