The Oscars: 2024's 96th Academy Awards, 7:00pm March 10th ABC

i mean that moonlight was denied that moment in their full glory

but see this is how its shifts from we should feel bad for moonlight to feel bad for la la land

i could really give a damn about la la land i thought it was overhyped and boring

simply something some white people would love

but thats the moment

like all that hard work thats the reward

its not just "ruined the speech"

the biggest award on the biggest stage

like thats what they do it for

Nah b, they got the Oscar, Moonlight is now an academy award winner for best picture, that is cemented in history and nothing will take that away, you are running wild with the identity politics b, dial it back....this wasn't some conspiracy to take away from Moonlight while sacrificing the integrity and morale of a lot of white people...they won't ever purposely do that.

but what are those few white feelings compared to the millions of white ppl watching?

do u think a majority of them wanted to see moonlight win?

even if its just for that moment, they cant take away the win, but in that moment

they did what they did

im not going to rant and rave and tell you youre wrong for ur opinion so id like the same

Well, I definitely have to see Moonlight and La La Land to see how those movies stack up against themselves. I still don't even know what both movies are about so I actually feel like I can give it a unbiased opinion on both films.

I saw that Oscar flop live yesterday and was just like ....wow!

You're making a lot of generalizations.

One of them being that the majority of white people are incapable of liking a movie with an all black cast. I simply do not think that is the case.

I'm tired of talking about this though.

Agree to disagree.

I'm definitely interested in watching La La Land soon...

Moonlight, not so much. Someone explained the plot to me and it's not my cup of tea.

The rocks face :lol

I see like only 3 people of color in this pic tho

Shouldn't John Wick 2 have been nominated and won for Best Picture or did it miss the cutoff date for nominations?

Why were there 2 envelopes announcing Emma for best actress to begin with? And how does no one not notice that until the grand mess up?

unless it wasnt a mess up

but let these ppl believe a mistake like that was made at that specific moment during that specific venue "on accident"

these same ppl that know all about how the academy works and how many briefcases there are

but they cant tell you how this happened

Yall really think Pricewaterhousecooper a company worth 40 billion; a company whose entire business model is built on trust worthiness is going to endure a massive public embarrassment for the sake of your zany conspiracy theories? :lol

Makes as much sense as them pulling a stunt like that for publicity when it's the Oscars :lol, like they need any help

Moonlight still won and got their moment at the end of the night while everyone's laughing at LaLa Land's expense

One thing is for sure though, PWC is getting fired for another big accounting firm.

i think a company worth 40 billion goes back to business as usual and anyone that brings it up will have a laugh about it

i also think a company worth that much is more invested in appeasing certain constituents than what an awards flub those same constiuents wont bat an eye at

Totally possible.

How much money would you have to pay Pwc to endure this type of extremely public embarrassment? I would argue there almost no amount that would make it worth it short of buying the company. :lol

Their job is to not make mistakes. They're not appeasing anybody at these awards except the people who run it.

I estimate that 90% of the population never heard of PWC before last night. That means that 90% of the population with forever associate them with last night's mistake
