I highly doubt it takes that long to get one unless you live in a small town that lacks retailers. I've got 5 Gamestops, 3 Wal-marts, 4 Bestbuys, 1 Target, and a Frys within a 10 mile radius of my apartment.

Back in June, IGN reported comments from multiple sources stating the Eye camera was left out of PlayStation 4 bundles in order to compete with the Xbox One on price. During an interview with Business Spectator (via Engadget), Sony confirmed the company tried to include the camera in the $400 bundle, but ultimately couldn't afford more loss.

"Certainly for the earlier part of the lifecycle, the vast majority of the audience that we speak to tells us that their primary wish is for the full controller interface and there's not necessarily a huge emphasis being placed on camera interaction," said Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House.

Undoubtedly, one of the biggest divisions between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is price. Microsoft decided to push the Kinect as a packed-in piece of tech in its $500 Xbox One launch, while Sony's Masayasu Ito claims $400 is the "magic price" for the PlayStation 4. Sony's next-gen console is allegedly already selling at a $60 loss per unit.

The big question, of course, is how gamers and developers will respond to the fragmented install base of the new PlayStation Eye. While the Xbox One may cost $100 more, each unit will feature a Kinect, meaning early adopters may be more open to using the motion-sensing device in games. House reiterated the PlayStation Eye could show up in later bundles, but it still means the PlayStation 4 will launch with cool toys--like Playroom--many people won't have the ability to play.

I HAVE A 60" PANASONIC GT50 PLASMA. IT LOOKS LIKE HEAVEN.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST BUYING A PLASMA IF YOU ARE GONNA GAME AS WELL AS FOR PICTURE QUALITY.

yeah, i'm leaning towards copping a new plasma.  I hear the contrast ratios are no joke compared to LED.  Not gonna fall for any 3D gimmicks though.

The only knock on plasma tvs is the fact that the screens have glare problems. If your tv is in a bright room or next to a window you should definitely go with led instead.

Whats your budget?

The current favourites are the Panasonic GT60 and the Sony Bravia W900.

All the Sony LCD's have very low input lag so controls feel responsive and they also have 4:4:4 chroma sub sampling but this is mainly important if you're using your TV as a monitor as well.

The Panasonic has better colours but worse input lag but people say it's acceptable. Only the W900 comes close to it's image quality.


You can't go wrong with either. I'm still skeptical about Plasma's though.

If you can't afford the top end stuff then the 42inch Sony W653 is the best. Avoid Samsung for gaming.

I have a samsung led and I'm happy with it.. 240 hz refresh 3d and more. I also played crysis 3 in 3d and was blown away by the picture quality and 3d

This or the ST60 but its a bit pricy. Panasonic is to end plasma production in March 2014

So they wanted to include the camera at the same price of $399 but dropped it so they won't take a heavy loss. So the $399 price point was the price from day 1 and not a reaction to MS.
