PS4 is not the same as PS4.5 of PS4K

I mean, from what we know they are two different things and one is better than the other.

Sony Computer Entertainment is getting serious about making PlayStation games for smartphones. In a press release  today, the company announced the formation of a new studio, ForwardWorks Corporation, which will be dedicated to making apps for mobile devices based on PlayStation games and characters.

ForwardWorks will officially start operations April 1, the same day Sony Computer Entertainment unifies its PlayStation divisions under the name Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Here's Sony's official word on what ForwardWorks plans to do:
ForwardWorks will leverage the intellectual property of the numerous PlayStation dedicated software titles and its gaming characters as well as the knowledge and know-how of gaming development expertise which was acquired over the years with PlayStation business to provide gaming application optimized for smart devices including smartphones to users in Japan and Asia. The company will aim to deliver users with opportunity to casually enjoy full-fledged game titles in the new filed [sic] of the smart device market.
While SCE didn't announce specific titles, it sounds like the company will make a more concerted effort to bring PlayStation brands like Gran Turismo, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted and others to Android and iOS devices.

Sony has already released a number of PlayStation titles on mobile devices, including the LittleBigPlanet spinoff Run Sackboy! Run!Ratchet & Clank: Before the Nexus  and Knack's Quest. PlayStation Mobile Inc. is responsible for those games and a number of companion apps for PlayStation games like Until DawnSingStar  and Beyond: Two Souls.

Since ForwardWorks titles are announced only for Japan and Asia, we've reached out to Sony Computer Entertainment America to find out if they're coming stateside as well.

Final Fantasy XV Director On Main Story Length, Frame Rate, Airship, Cactuar, And More

  • Cactuars will make an appearance. They’re powerful opponents that will be able to dodge Shift Breaks.
  • Square Enix will have plenty of surprises for their event on March 31st, and to expect a trailer in Japanese as well.
  • The father of Final Fantasy in Hironobu Sakaguchi called out Tabata saying “Let me tell you my impression on the Final Fantasy XV demo.” While Tabata can’t say what they talked about, he mentions with a laugh that Sakaguchi had a whole lot to say.
  • A playable tech demo will be properly shown at the event.
  • As for the play time, at first Square Enix estimated that it would take about 40 hours to clear the main scenario, but this has since then been bumped up to 50 hours. They’re currently not at the final stages of balancing out the game, but making optimal balances. They say that the game has more volume than they thought it would.
  • As for the Airship, it has been decided from long ago on how they would introduce it into the game. It’s something that would have you say “this is the kind of Airship that should be in Final Fantasy XV.”
  • Maintaining a frame rate of 30fps is their objective. This has not been completely optimized as of yet, as there are times where it breaks 30. They will continue making adjustments until the last minute before the game goes gold. If they’re unable to fixate on the 30fps, they will do something different.
  • As for the game’s resolution, it’ll be revealed at the release event on March 31st.
  • As for a PS4 bundle version, Square Enix is working on making it happen.

That .5 is not gonna play 4k, even scaling it up to 4k is a stretch. PCs can't even do reliably right now unless you have a very high-end GPU.

No.5 is normal since Sony keeps reserves in case of future updates to the systems OS.

No.7 is also normal since they can allow games to use more power once they reduce the footprint of the OS or maybe there's some sort of smart upscaler for 1080p to 4K for games.

I have a feeling its going to be some sort of 4K scaler with the PS VR breakout box integrated inside the system.

Makes sense.

Shrink the PCB and stuff the PS VR breakout box's internals inside and the extra power will be used for that (VR) and 4K content and upscaling.

I think thats it.

Yakuza 0 will launch for PlayStation 4 both physically and digitally in North America and Europe in early 2017, Sega announced.


The game tells the origin story of Kazuma Kiryu and details his ascension into the ranks of the Yakuza. Its gameplay focuses on “navigating the seedy underworld of Japan,” and users will also get to play as long-time NPC Majima Goro, the Mad Dog of Shimamo. Voices are in Japanese with English subtitles.

  • The Dragon’s Origins: What lies in a man’s past defines his future, and in this case, we learn a lot about what inspires Kiryu down the paths he takes in the rest of the Yakuza series. Plus, you don’t get to be called “Dragon” without being able to knock a few heads.
