The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

So far all of PS4's exclusives haven't lived up the hype. If Bloodborne somehow ends up being terrible, I'll be at a loss for words.

Please Miyazaki, you're our only hope. Save us from these failed movie directors.

Mlb the show lives up to the hype every year. :hat

And it's hard to live up to hype when people are just sitting waiting to ***** about everything that ain't perfect about the game...

Not many games "live up to the hype" these days.

THE GAME HASN'T EVEN RELEASED YET.

I swear some of you care more about perception, industry speculation, and the climate of each console than just playing games.

If you don't think it's long enough, don't buy it. I dont see what the issue is here.

Went to scoop Driveclub today... regular price everywhere I went...

That's what I'm saying. If you don't want it don't buy it. If you don't think its worth $60 jut wait for the price to drop...it's simple. Several pages of *****in is not necessary.
These games will all be good. Even Borderlands and Dark Souls 2
whats the guidelines on judging a game that dropped 2 years ago as good or not for next gen?

So not buying the game is rolling over and taking it? No, not buying the game is taking a stand. Not giving them your money is taking a stand. *****ing on a forum is doing absolutely nothing.

So it helps by *****ing on NT? So you're helping by *****ing on NT? That's showing the devs that you won't take their ****? *****.

I don't want to come across as defending these companies at all, nor do I want to come across as confrontational. I agree with alot of points brought up in here about this issue.

That said, the only thing companies care about it money. You don't like the length? Don't buy it. They'll get the hint.

Secondly, we are taking the word of people who have early copies who are uploading video with gameplay... not exactly your average consumer. You give me an RPG and I guarantee I can finish it faster than most people. That doesn't mean you take my playthrough as the average time.

Heck, I can run through TLoU on easy in probably 4-5 hours. Doesn't diminish the game.

I have also read an article or two that have talked about developers seeing how low the completion percentage is on their games when they reach a certain length. I can't remember the time but it falls off a cliff after a certain number of hours, depending on the genre. Alot of people talking about the length of the game may not even be finishing most of the games they play...

Over-hyping games is a problem. However, prematurely dismissing games without having a real grasp is also a problem.

Wait for some reviews. If the majority call in to question it's length, make an informed decision.

no. not buying the game was the other option i listed...

" if all u do is roll over n take it, or walk away...then" not buying it is the same as walking away. u neither condone nor forbid it. taking a stand is to speak out AGAINST it. not participating is not the same as condemning or forbidding. im sure we all agree on that.

Some of y'all look for reasons to bash games instead of trying them for yourselves. I personally haven't watched the video, mainly to avoid spoilers but just because ONE person beats agame in a few hours doesn't mean that everyone else will. If I was to play majority of the single player games on Easy I'd be able to beat the games in a few hours. Some games even have trophies for beating said games in a certain time. The game comes out in 4 days, all will be answered.

I disagree a bit... not buying a game sends a message. Look how many people hate on Destiny for no content but still bought it and the season pass. You think Bungie REALLY cares at this point?

This issue is simply an opinion because a game being short is a person-to-person issue. Some might like the fact it's a shorter game.

Issue like micro-transactions or buggy releases are a bit different in that they harm the play experience. A short game may be an artistic choice. If the game plays well, why are we worried how long it is?

Those games just came out last year right? At least the pre-sequel and Dark Souls 2.

And what are you asking me?

borderlands 2 dropped september 18, 2012. borderlands the pre-sequel dropped oct 2014. im asking, what guidelines do we use to judge whether re-released games are good or not? Its just like people saying GTA 5 is beast on ps4 and all i can think about is...but we did this already 2 years ago...

Homie trust me it was already reporterd that the game has went gold with preorders... If half of them preorders are canceled you don't think the will get the message?

You want to prove a point make them pockets lighter its that simple. Nothing you say will change a damn thing. Not buying the game is the biggest stand you can take. If you can't understand that I don't know what to tell you.

Not coming at you a certain way but it irritates me when it's so simple. If this game doesn't sell trust me they will make a better effort next time.

I see what you are saying.

in this case (much like with destiny's first expansion- and the subsequent promise from bungie to do better because of the reactions) people already paid ahead of time before knowing anything. if people knew the game was short, pre-orders wouldve dropped dramatically. in this case all people CAN do is cancel preorders. but in future cases, and in cases where people have no bought the game....speak out. they can't lose money they didn't have. in destiny's case, they realize theyre about to lose a ton of money they didn't have. people SPOKE OUT. it caused a shift. its always better to prevent than react. if u can prevent developers frmo even THINKING about making short games for as much as they cost....thats better than games dropping where nobody buys them.
