 Multiplatform games run/look better on the PS4.
Would you link me to articles that state that multiplats run better on the ps4?

Have you compared some multiplats on both consoles first-hand to see if you can visually tell the difference between 900p and 1080p?
 
I own a PS4, any reason to own a XB1?

Do you like Halo series? Is sunset overdrive appealing to you? Do you play mostly multiplats?

My friend bought an xb1 day one and he recently sold his, he wasn't playing it at all. He mostly plays multiplats though. Me personally, there really has to be a game that tickles my fancy for me to pick up an xb1, up to this point, I haven't been intrigued

The face offs done at Eurogamer give the nod to PS4. Most of the time while the xbone tries to match 1080p it suffers from dropped frame-rate and a mess of screen tear. The problem isn't that 1080p looks better than 900p to me it does, but if it cant do it now without it affecting FPS or screen tearing. What will happen a few years from now when the PS4 gets knock down to 900p ? what resolution will the xbone run ? A good example is PES2015 ps4 1080p+60fps

One 720P+60fps .It was bad enough MS sent devs to help them.

Sole Vintage said it all really.

Digital Foundry does a face off on most major games and PS4 versions run better for the vast majority of games. It's not just 1080p vs 900p, which is still a clear advantage.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition
Compared to PC, the only visible console-side sacrifices are the lower-grade ambient occlusion - appearing faintly more intrusive on Xbox One - and a more prominent depth of field effect. But between the Sony and Microsoft releases, PS4's main advantage is undeniably on the performance front; Xbox One hitting the bottom end of the 20-30fps band during our tests, while segments of play unfold at 25fps at its worst on PS4.

Alien: Isolation

Creative Assembly wanted parity between PS4 and Xbox One and on the basis of image quality, detail and effects work it has managed it, but while native 1080p sharpness may please Xbox One owners, it has come at a cost, because while the Xbox One version delivers the core Alien experience mostly intact, overall immersion is compromised by frequent drops in fluidity. Performance is obviously the deciding factor here and it's clear PS4 has a distinct advantage. As such the PS4 game gets our recommendation for console owners, even though we're left with the nagging feeling that 60fps should have been possible on Sony's hardware based on the game's PC showing.

However, the PS4 remains the best bang-for-buck version out right now. While broadly a match for Xbox One, its full 1080p resolution, higher shadow quality and increased foliage density barely put a dent in its v-synced 30fps performance. The Xbox One release is a solid 30fps too in matching frame-rate tests but the added visual treats on Sony's platform make this an easy one to call between the two.

But with all the additions being made, there are already signs that the thin end of the wedge is dividing the PS4 and Xbox One versions. The omission of motion blur from the Microsoft release, for example, plus a few occasional frame-rate dips during cut-scenes, suggests the weight of these engine advances is starting to take its toll. It's rare to see a break in parity between the modern entries in this series, but FIFA 15 marks the first time a more obvious distinction can be made.

That game was already available on Xbox One, the all-in-one entertainment device from Microsoft.

Had no idea Borderlands 3 was dropping.

Destiny's taken over my ps4. 

2k collecting dust. Are the servers still poopy?
 
New to Sony. Add me: bosKicKzZ...I play Destiny, Madden 15, 2k15, and Battle Field.. Cod soon.
 
Upon further review, I really like Driveclub. The steering wheel makes a difference. Gotta get used to some of these cars. Give them a little too much has and you'll lose control. Once I realized I needed to slow down while turning corners the game got more fun. Still need to work on drifting. :lol.

I still hate the stupid penalties.

The xb1 is 1080p/60fps capable. From my limited knowledge, an issue is that multiplat devs are under time/money constraints. Given that, some devs can't make the the ps4/xb1 version exactly the same its release date. We saw this last gen with the 360/ps3.

I've played destiny, cod ghosts, battlefield 4, watch dogs, trials fusion, metal gear solid ground zeroes, and assassin's creed iv on the xb1/ps4. The graphical differences weren't apparent to me. I even put my tv in pip mode to compare some of the games that I listed. I doubt that most multiplat devs would lower ps4 versions of their games to 900p because they couldn't get the xb1 to 1080p in time for release. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox has already stated that it's up to the devs. to utilize the xb1 however they can.

In a recent interview, he stated that in some cases his team would talk with devs. to help them reach what the xb1 is capable of. Which to me, is the right move.



In the case of PES, I think some of that had to due with xb1 users not being happy for shelling out their $$$ for an xb1 and getting a easily visually inferior version.

According to them, both versions had sub 30fps and had screen tearing.

The xb1 version is good enough for the average gamer, but the ps4 version is slightly better.

After skimming those articles you linked me to, it fuels the notion that the ps4's superior hardware isn't important at this point in time.

The differences pointed out in the articles don't drastically affect gameplay, if at all.

To me, $ony's first party studios will be utilizing the ps4's superior capabilities, while m$'s first party studios will be utilizing xb1's capabilities.

I might buy Shadow of Mordor soon. Even though the ps4 version has slight improvements, I'd prefer the xb1 version. Since it has the superior controller.

It would be interesting to see if the average gamer decides on which multiplat console version to get based on graphics, console features, or something else.
