The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 Victor Wemby Invitational)

The last time we had someone as consistent as Iga was probably... Ash?
But yeah, generally speaking, it hasn't been great.
Rybakina now looks to be the fav, which isn't a surprise. She's playing so well.

Meanwhile... saw him pull up after matchpoint and looks like it's quite serious.

Ouch

Fritz looking like a mess out there. Musetti 1 set away from a Wimbledon SF and I did not see this coming.

EDIT

But we're going 5!

Given the 4th, I expected the momentum to be with him in the 5th, but he was a bit all over the place and looked a bit gassed.

He also slipped on the penultimate point and jarred his knee. Looked super scary, but was able to play the final point.

Vekic v Paolini was a heck of a semi.

No shame for Donna played her heart out and lost match point on her sword going for the winner.

Such quality from Barbora right now.

EDIT

Such quality from Jasmine right now.

The Novotna tributes were lovely.
Old enough to remember her crying on the Duchess of Kent's shoulder.

Grand Slam champion Taylor Townsend! Super happy to see her win her first GS in doubles. 👏🏽

Watchin Krejcikova breakdown seeing Novotna’s name on the champion’s board was tough to watch… 💔 Hope she can stay healthy and stay at the top of the rankings.

Carlos with a red hot start. Just a few too many errors for Novak, esp. on some of the bigger points. First blood.

Carlos has been a bit inconsistent over the past two weeks... losing the random set and just making a bunch of errors.
Let's see if that guy will show up today.

Yeah, this one is over. The very first game set the tone for the match, imo.

A couple of routine sets for Carlos... just too good right now.
Novak with no answers and looking very flat.

Plenty of time to get ready for the Euros!
