The Official PlayStation 3 | ViTA Thread Vol. Plenty of Life Left

I just picked up a PS3 about a month ago. I've only played Ninja Gaiden so far and Madden. (Edit: Correction, I beat MWF COD2 and it was extremely short...)

Can you guys recommend me the must-play games for the console?

If you could PM me a list that would be awesome. Otherwise you can quote me so that I can find your response plz.

Well for starters you can't go wrong with some of the PS3 exclusives like the Uncharted series, God of War Series, Infamous series or even the Ratchet and Clank series.

Pretty much all these games I mentioned have some special Collection bundle where you can buy several games for $30-40

You can get the God of War Saga Collection
ir

, that comes with 5 games (two of which you download) for just under $40.

Or the Ratchet and Clank
ir

collection for the same price
Awesome. Repped.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend any of the games made by Telltale, but that's just me.

Infamous and Infamous 2 are two great Sony exclusives.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is a must have if you've played any of the saga. Despite it releasing a few years ago, the graphics are still great.

The PSN Store redesign is awesome, much needed. Now about the XMB...

Well, I like to be immersed in environments of games. Pretty visuals are a must for the :hat. Good sound design as well, as video game sound design is a future career of mine (the main reason I picked up the console). I like stuff that involves critical thinking (max payne), and also games that will test your reflexes. Something with good story lines too, so that when my half-blind 60 y/o mom walks in she will think that the game is a movie and sit down to watch it instead of distracting me with conversation (LA Noire/RDR?).

I thought Bioshock always looked interesting. You think I should skip the first Mass Effect? Feel free to say which games in a series of sequels you think I should skip, or which sequels in a series you think I should skip directly to..

New PSN Store Video. I can't wait for Wednesday, looks really good in motion.

dude is kinda funny i understand its a character but he asks the questions that matter and you can tell dudes a legit gamer..plus i love the belt hes rockin.

last night i watched this show on spike TV and it showed the new black ops and wow i cannot wait im sure this one will break records like it always does, i was actually going to wait but after seeing the content i was just blown away, you can take different paths in the level to get where you need to and personalize your loadouts in single player campaign hopefully the game is a little longer..im not really into playing the COD's online lots of annoying people..

NYCC: Mass Effect 3: Omega DLC Price, Release Date
The biggest Mass Effect DLC yet.
by Andrew Goldfarb
October 12, 2012

During New York Comic Con today, BioWare revealed a price and release date for Mass Effect 3’s Omega downloadable content. The pack will launch on November 27th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for $15 (1200 Microsoft Points), and likely on November 28th for European PlayStation 3 players.

Omega is reportedly the largest Mass Effect 3 add-on yet, and is “double the size” of the previous largest pack according to producer Mike Gamble. The story follows Aria T'loak and her attempts to retake Omega from Cerberus control.

BioWare first hinted at Omega during Montreal Comic Con last month and later named the DLC in a statement when BioWare founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuck retired. Details on Omega were allegedly leaked by Mass Effect source files later that month.

Omega is the third single-player add-on for Mass Effect 3, following From Ashes, which launched alongside the game, and Leviathan in August. BioWare also released the Extended Cut endings and several multiplayer packs, including the Retaliation content released this week.

:eek Will download on my second playthrough.

I'm glad they're still releasing stuff. I'm still playing ME2 with ME3 still in the packaging! So much stuff to download before i even play.

i dont plan on doing any more than tryin mass effect 1 if sum1 i know gets its (doubt it) so imo ull be fine starting with 2 and then 3.  u can choose ur sex then spice it up with dudes or chicks in mass games so u might not want mom around for those intimate moments lmao i been tryin a smash this assistant but turns out she's interested in playing THE FIELD. ykwim

.....movie-wise why has no one recommended this man Heavy Rain? i thought it was kinda obvious in terms of who-done-it but it was still real solid.  did one play through but  not because i didnt like it enough to play through it again.  ur mom might even wanna grab the controls from u haha
good finally

Thats what I've been doing with ME 2. I like the game a lot but I just don't have the time to dedicate to the huge world it has. I got to set aside a few hours if I get into that game cause I know I'll immerse myself in it.

Maybe I'll be able to get into ME 3 during my Christmas break at work.

I still wanna play MAX PAYNE and I'm really digging the Assassins Creed 3 promos. So Many GREAT games out now, so little time. God how i wish I had these in highschool.
New .hack title in the works for consoles and handhelds
A new entry in the massive .hack franchise is on the way, CyberConnect 2 boss Hiroshi Matsuyama confirmed at New York Comic Con.

20121015_dot_hack.jpg

“There is actually a [.hack] title that has yet to be revealed, in which we will implement new ideas. Stay tuned for details, as we’re not allowed to release them right now,” Matsuyama told Gematsu.

While the developer declined to give solid details, he did say that the new title is head to both consoles and handhelds.

The .hack series is a fairly confusing conglomerate of games, anime, manga and spin-off media which is mainly concerned with a fictional MMO called The World which is troubled by mysterious goings on. Although other creators have had a hand in it, it is CyberConnect2′s brainchild.

Anybody got the Gold controller?
Anyone? I'm getting the clear blue one myself.
I didn't even know there was Gold DS3 until I checked in here.

It's a GameStop exclusive though.

Might cop next time I'm in the States.

What's this about a clear blue one though?
nerd.gif

I wouldn't mind seeing some DS3s in new colors.

Is this the DS3 you're referring to NCTwin?

Me gusta.

The Candy Blue DS3 is only in Japan right now, hopefully they come to the US soon.

There are also  a Translucent Grey and Translucent Red DS3s dropping as well, the latter being a Target exclusive.
