Can the ps vita run HD games?

If so what's the max resolution?

Also how powerful is it in terms of multitasking and things of that nature?

You cant really multi-task. One program runs at a time. You can, however, be running a game or program (netflix, browser, ect), go into standy, come back to your Vita and continue on from where you left it. Almost all programs load up very quickly, so I am not too burdened by switching myself.

Res is 960 x 544. So your best resolution is 540p

That's pretty impressive for a handheld.
God of War: Ascension demo included with Total Recall remake Blu-ray
Wow, there's a reason to consider buying the Blu-ray of the Total Recall remake! If you purchase the "Director's Cut" Blu-ray, or the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, you'll get the E3 demo of God of War: Ascension. The Blu-ray, and the God of War demo, arrive December 18. The demo is exclusive "through 3/8/13," suggesting that a demo will hit PSN four days before the March 12 launch.

God of War demos and sci-fi movie Blu-rays have been mashed together before. Back in 2009, Sony tossed a God of War 3 demo in with District 9 on Blu-ray

picked up Dishonored, gonna try to go the no kill route on my first playthrough

Just need a few great games and I'm sold.

Sony on PS Mobile Trophy Support: "It’s Coming"
Your beloved digital rewards should be en route.
by Colin Moriarty OCTOBER 10, 2012

PlayStation Mobile launched very recently on a variety of devices, chief among them PlayStation Vita. Yet, while offering players a promising future of cheap, bite-sized games, PlayStation Mobile seemed to have missed out on including something that would get the attention of the hardcore PlayStation community: Trophies.

In a conversation with The Verge, Sony’s Sarah Thompson, who is in charge of “content acquisition” for PlayStation’s new mobile initiative, confirmed that Trophy support is en route, along with online leaderboards. “It’s coming. I couldn’t tell you what the timeline is on that, but those kinds of features are definitely in our purview. We are hearing the feedback, and we take everything from what the gamers are saying and what the developers are saying to heart. Trust me, it’s a priority for us,” she told the website.

Trophy support would go a long way in engendering much-needed hardcore support for the fledgling initiative, which could sink or swim based on how it’s adopted early on. And it seems Sony knows that, is listening and will be handing over tools to the developers to make Trophies a reality in the near future.

This has to be the most expensive two month span for me for video games...

PS Vita RPG Ragnarok Odyssey Has A Release Date
Quite exciting, indeed.
by Colin Moriarty OCTOBER 10, 2012

Ragnarok Odyssey has long looked like one of PlayStation Vita’s most promising games, and while we’ve known for a while that it was due out sometime this fall, now we finally have an exact release date. Ragnarok Odyssey will launch in North America on October 30th. Its release date in other territories is still unknown, though it should be coming "later this year" to Europe in particular.

As is the case with all PlayStation Vita games, Ragnarok Odyssey will be available digitally via the PlayStation Network on day one, but it will also be available for purchase at retail. Game Arts’ newest RPG – localized and translated by publisher XSEED – will sell for $39.99, though a special “Mercenary Edition” will also be available. The latter includes “a randomized pack of 10 Monster Cards,” as well as the game’s full soundtrack on CD, and a 96-page “full color Mercenary Guide” which chronicles some of the game’s “art, quests, maps and boss strategies.” The special edition will cost $49.99.

Hey guys I encountered a problem earlier today. I was playing my PS3 just fine on my Vizeo (runs 1080i). Left for work and turned it off, came back and tried to turn it on except the screen remained black! I tried all the following methods that I could find online (hold power button for 5 seconds, switching HDMI cables, and even tried a new HDMI cable) yet no screen! Although when I plug in my AV cables the XMB actually shows but it streams in 480i. So I decide to see if it will work on the TV outside which runs in 1080p and it works! So I set the HDMI to 1080i and tried again to see if it will work on the Vizeo but no success... Can anybody pinpoint the problem here? Could it be a TV problem? :{
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13′s ‘newness’ discussed, ‘logo not inspired by Skyrim’
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 is going down a different aesthetic path than previous games in the saga, drawing inspiration from industrial revolution London and other settings, but definitely not Skyrim, Square-Enix has stressed.

ff131.jpg

Speaking with Kotaku, the game’s battle director Yuji Abe discussed the game’s darker edge, and how he hopes all of the saga’s key characters will find a sense of hope by the time the end credits roll around.

Abe stated, “‘A battle with destiny,’ which is a theme at the root of the Lightning Saga, becomes a heavier burden on their shoulders as more events and people are sacrificed with each instalment.”

“By spending three games to depict their stories, I’m hoping that they are released from what binds them to their destinies, and they will get to see an end filled with a true sense of hope.”

The game follows Lightning as she attempts to halt the destruction of time. Taking place over 13 days, Lightning can add time to the game’s Doomsday Clock to halt the destruction. It’s a neat premise that riffs on the Historia Crux theme started by FFXIII-2. You can read more about the plot here.

Art director Isamu Kamikokuryo also dipped into the artistic inspirations for the game’s darker, more gothic locales, “When I first looked over the proposal documents given to me by the director, I thought it would be a great fit to have the following three elements as the main pillars: the elements of a mechanical design, which is consistently used throughout the FFXIII series, elements of fantasy, which is characteristic of the whole Final Fantasy series, and an element of gothic design, in a very broad kind of way.”

“We are picturing the streets and alleys of London around the time of the Industrial Revolution, near the end of the century.”

Kotaku also posed to the team that the game’s logo looks quite different to previous logos in the series, even suggesting that the developer has attempted to ape Skyrim’s motif.

It looks like this:

Producer Yoshinori Kitase replied, “We revamped the title logo because we wanted to convey the ‘newness’ of this installment. Traditionally, the Final Fantasy series logo can be characterized by a delicate, yet bold illustration that is placed within the logo.”

“However, this time our intention was to present a newness using an emblem with sharp edges and a symmetrical design. And so there is no relation to Skyrim whatsoever. Of course, there are many members of the dev team that enjoy playing Skyrim.”

Are you looking forward to this game, or do you just want an new title in the series? Let us know below.

ya get one. they cheaper now. your list is mine exactly except im trading out twilight princess and someday beating mario galaxy 2. the wii store is poppin too dont forget. they got all the classics, nes, snes, 64, cube all that good ^&*(%.  got me 2000 wii points like  a boss and scooped mario 64.  it's the iphone of video games.  revolutionary, silky smoooth, and beyond accessible.  did i mention fun and gorgeous to look at? i realized for the first time the other day that mario 64's opening level introduces not only the game's mechanics but the very underpinnings of an entire new lineage of gaming philosophy and sentiment.  im inspired enough by it to say that if someone proclaimed it goat id put em on fallout 3 but wouldnt even be mad at the same time.  whats also interesting about wii store is the fact that they include sega titles too, so phantasy star series and sonic are available.  i got my eye on one of the phantasy stars for the remainder of my points.

in the manner of speaking of old games, playstation populace ye gather round!

if ye have not yet travailed the broken heartlands of squaresoft's final fantasy 1, why verily, i urge ye far and wide to spread the word of it's voracity after ye have partaken of its sumptuous and wholly edifying fruit.  it's adventures are abundant, riches more so, and rare is the occasion when the milieus of reality separate from it's dear counterpart of the reality ethereal! it is only as engrossing an experience as your imagination makes accommodation for, however.....

seriously tho.....by that i mean the graphics are old school so you have to fill in the gaps and make it appear as modern graphics (or better yet, reality) in your mind.  im starting to  realize old school games are like books in that your minds is more at use in imagining it as a reality you can identify with and really, adapt to and impress upon. so far final fantasy 1 is greater than final fantasy 7.  see, you not only have to take the game into account but also it's historical significance.  7 does things 1 did long before (world maps, cut scene, battle map, level map).  for 1 it was a new way of living and breathing and eking out one's own place in these digital mirages, fantasies really.  see 1 also ties in well with final fantasy 9;  garland as a recurring theme of ancient woe, crystals and their role as quantifiers of destiny, even 1's opening dungeon Temple of Chaos uses music quite similar to 9's crystal world theme (both quite effectively use what i refer to as a reverberating sense of a place composed of some ancient undisclosed texture and material, they do this by way of dedicated synth.)

with final fantasy games the music that plays in the background is not whats heard in the game world to the characters but rather what each environment brings to the characters in terms of enemies encountered, settings seen, or more importantly, plot milestones passed.

moreover, this sense of having to use ones imagination more so for an old school game (especially given all the modern gaming amenities we have come to know and embrace), extends also to not having voice actors or cutscenes mandatorily pushing you along.  theres a scene at the beginning of 1 where the 4 my party is given a rare artifact told to be 'very useful' in my journey and nothing more.  However, that's not all, see this jewel is a family heirloom in this kingdom, passed down from mother to daughter.  I had just rescued the princess from Garland at his Chaos Temple so the princess knew of our combatant fortitude.  her entrusting me with this priceless artifact (priceless due to both its relevance to beating the game and it's sentimental value as regards to her family) was a gesture not to be taken lightly.  i felt great gravity during this opening scene unlike i have felt in gaming on constant occasion.

Fallout 3 on PC > ff1/9 > _________

long story short im not workin on xeno/last story until i beat ff 1-14 beating the ones i haven't already, in order. left to go i have 1 - 6, 8, not counting 11, some of 12, and 14 is online. should take me about 10-12 years see what im sayin?

yup sounds tv  related

Is it possible to get the best ending (teammates not dying in the final battle) in Mass Effect 3 without playing multiplayer for a high EMS score?

Also, I think this is the only series in which I've played that truly gets you attached the characters. When I lost Miranda, Legion and Tali in the suicide mission in ME2 :{ . I wish I would have read up on how to have everyone survive before hand.

Well for starters you can't go wrong with some of the PS3 exclusives like the Uncharted series, God of War Series, Infamous series or even the Ratchet and Clank series.

Pretty much all these games I mentioned have some special Collection bundle where you can buy several games for $30-40

You can get the God of War Saga Collection, that comes with 5 games (two of which you download) for just under $40.

Or the Ratchet and Clank collection for the same price
