Got to shoot on a barge during the SF Giants Skate Day festivities. Super cool taking photos of these pro skaters that I've watched my whole life.

went back to my mom’s home for mother’s day a few weeks ago for the 1st time in years after moving across the country & was going through some of the things i had left, came across this gem of a now basically paperweight

Anyone else deal with incessant dust specs on the sensor? No matter how much I use the blow duster, microfiber, auto cleaning function, I can't seem to get rid of it. Spot healing can only handle so much. Any tips appreciated, thanks

I had this issue with my camera. There is a sensor cleaning kit that you can use. There is a method in using it though which is use the cleaning solution and then use the blower to dry it asap. I find from using a camera so long that getting every single dust or spec from a sensor is almost impossible. I always find myself cloning out stuff every time I edit.

Werd thank you for the link! And the reassurance. I've been swapping between my 35mm and 85mm lenses a little more often now and a few shots I had of the sky were baaaaaad

just did a quick test shot out my window and it definitely worked a lot better than anything I already had on deck. I can see one or two small specs but the last shot of the sky I took looked like chicken pox...

I ended up lucking into a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 and now kind thinking I might need to upgrade my camera to maximize the lens and just my shots in general. My current camera seems pretty slow. Looking to upgrade from my current Canon EOS Rebel T6 (which I know is very entry level). Any reccomendatios that wouldn't absolutely break the bank? I mainly just shoot soccer.

Oh....man, that is a tough one. Cause shooting action or sports is the one thing that can increase a price on a camera. I think I heard the Canon 7DMKii is pretty solid if you still want crop frame. They should be pretty cheap used at below $500.
I also wonder if getting a Canon mirrorless is the way to go too since their autofocus is just way better even using an EF lens. If you can afford one, I bet it should be more future proof then getting an older Canon body at this point.

Gotcha, I am super amateur so really don't know much about anything in terms of the new tech, etc. I was under the impression that the mirrorless cameras used different lenses? My EF mount lens would still be compatible?

there are adapters, which also work across lens mounts & camera systems…so you might consider switching to other camera brands that might work better for your intended use

Yes. There are EF to RF adapters that allow you to put old lenses on newer Canon mirrorless bodies. From what I heard, autofocus even with the adaptor is pretty solid. The tracking on the mirrorless cameras are just better. So when you are shooting say a soccer player running, the camera should just autofocus on the player by itself while you just shoot away. Canon 7D has it but not as good as today’s technology anyways.
