Nice. I can't wait to start traveling to different countries. I don't know if you've ever heard of Ryanair but it's ridiculously cheap airfare. Looked up flights to Rome and London, only 30 euro roundtrip. Several other cities as well.

Yea my wife was studying at U of Glasgow, Scotland and would skip around Europe on Ryan Air a lot...  Take advantage of it while you can and definitely get pictures everywhere...

The Zugspitze in Garmisch-partenkirchen is literally the most awesome place I've ever been on this planet.

*Pics since this is the photog thread...

Oh, and... GO TO PRAGUE ASAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

Finally had a chance to go off base and explore Germany a little bit. Went to a city about 15-20 minutes away by train. Had a great time, didn't take my 60D with me though. Have a lot more but i don't want to upload everything. All of these taken with my Canon S95. Pumped up the ISO a bit on the two night shots so theirs some grain, haven't edited any of these. Gonna get lightroom soon, looking forward to messing around with it as well as learning how to use it.

What base are you located in?

I went to Spangdhalem and Ramstein this summer to visit some of my peeps ...

How do you get the panoramic so straight? Is it the way you shoot it or the editing? I have always wondered. When I shoot panos, I am always stationary and just rotate my body. So when the photos line up, it looks more like a fisheye then a straight line.

I usually try to adjust as I rotate ... remember, as you go from left to right the camera's perspective change, hence the reason why sometimes you might have the corners with a tilt ....

this was done a long time ago ...

I miss posting in this thread so much. After selling my 3100 I've been itching to get out there and push the trigger.

yea, apparently the eos M was a failure, its been going on sales and deals. picked it up for $299 with the 22mm. the other is an 18-55mm iirc.

had bad reviews at the time what it was worth and the slow af. but as soon as it dipepd to $299 it was a no brainer. there was anew firmware helped the af. no built in flash but has hotshoe for it, and the 22mm works great in low light already and i primarly dont like to use flash anyways.

nice thing is, just need to get the adapter for it to use existing ef/efs lenses.

Sick. I actually have my Canon M on my right now. Just got a case for it, so now I don't feel all paranoid carrying it with me. I honestly haven't done a whole lot of test shooting but day shots are solid where as night shots can get sort of grainy and unclear. They are still decent shots though but just compared my DSLR, you can see where that extra $1000 or so dollars kicks in. But the 22mm lens and the new firmware is just awesome and it actually creates some really nice bokeh for portraits or what not. For the price, it really is one of the better cameras out or at least better then a normal point and shoot. I just hate how you can't pocket the camera.

Nice... The price on those must have come down. Those were selling for $520+ used not too long ago.

Yeah i've been checking ebay on occasion and they seem to be right around that price still if not a little lower. Not often i was seeing auctions end at the price i paid, usually north of that. Was considering getting new from B&H but $599 is steep. $50 less than normal due to the instant rebate from Canon but i believe that ends at the end of the month.
