I thought they didn't have any Firsts... I could be reading this wrong though I suppose

In 2025, 2027, and 2029, the Suns’ first round picks will be conveyed to Brooklyn outright as part of the Kevin Durant trade. They won’t have a first round selection in those years.

They have swap agreements in place for their 2024, 2026, and 2028 first round picks.

This year, for example, their pick will be less favorable than Washington and Memphis, as both of those teams are in the lottery. Neither team will exercise their swap rights and the Suns will retain their pick.

Even if they had a better pick than both of those teams, the Suns wouldn’t have been left without a first round pick entirely. They’d just be switching draft positions.

For the sake of argument, let’s say that the Wizards had the 24th overall pick this year, the Grizzlies had the 26th overall pick, and the Suns had the 22nd overall pick. Phoenix and Washington would agree to change places, giving Washington the Suns’ 22nd overall pick, and Phoenix the 24th overall pick. The Grizzlies, as part of a separate deal, would then have the right to swap for the position that had been Washington’s (the less favorable between their pick and the Suns original pick). This would leave Phoenix with the Grizzlies’ pick - the 26th overall.

This limits the Suns’ options, as they’d be unable to tank and rebuild through the lottery, but the oft-repeated claim that Phoenix has “no first round picks through 2030” is incorrect. They will still receive first round picks in those even-numbered swap years, but their pick would be further back in the draft IF they have a worse record than either the Wizards or Grizzlies.

It's dead ball, after the foul had already been called. They don't call goal tending when someone shoots a shoot on a dead ball and someone on the other team blocks it right before it hits the rim. Why do the clear landing spot rules apply when the ball is dead?

The play was dead, the ref blowed the whistle for something else. Its like calling a foul on someone taking a practice shot during a timeout.

The official rulebook says nothing about a play being live or dead. A flagrant is simply contact deemed unnecessary by officials.

So during a timeout if someone goes and clocks someone on the other teeam they gonna call a flagrant?

Depends... If a player is throwing up a shot during a timeout(which happens often) and an opposing player hits him in the head while trying to stop him then yes a flagrant, tech, or both will likely be called.
