This is the best time to judge him to see if he can be the #1 option, he can't. Not saying that he can't get there if he continues working on his playmaking. But as of today, he makes of an excellent #2 option the same way Kyrie was to LeBron.
He's shown last year that he can take over late game situations in big playoff games against the Knicks.
PG will most likely come back before Embiid so it will be interesting to see how he shares the #1 duties next to PG.
