The Official NBA Season Thread: Kings Fire Mike Brown

It’s funny when people ask where can I meet men/women. Take your *** out in public. It’s okay to go out alone and spark up a conversation.

Yup..

me yesterdaywith my kid .. I insist on fundamentals which at first my son resisted but after playing in camp and he saw some results so now he down for learning. He has to go to the park to play like I did. Interact with others. When you get hurt (minor stuff) you play through it. No crying no flopping no bs.

I give him free ball time and the first thing he does is shoot a 3. He’s 10. It’s not just him, every single kid and adult at the park will shoot a 3 over a wide open layup. And they all stink at shooting. It’s wild to watch.

If I didn’t put my foot down my kid is think basketball is just shooting 3s.

Same way modern day players keep losing to a perimeter player like Steph? Other than Jokic… what have modern bigs won? :lol :lol

When was the last team that played through a back to the basket post up big that won a championship? Maybe the Spurs in the early 2000's or the Lakers from the same era?

Why are y'all up here lying acting like that brand of basketball wins games. It doesn't. Y'all just have an emotional attachment to watching clumsy 7 footers foul each other on the block and that's ok.

Again, I love modern day hoops. My gripe has always been the dudes who can’t shoot, hoisting up 3s.

I rag on Ben Simmons but I can respect the fact that he knows he can’t shoot.

A 6’2” 190lb dude out here dominating these guys

Whole time Draymond, Kristaps, AD, Giannis, KD and Lebron have all been on championship teams the last 2 decades.

Make it make sense.

Hakeem, Ewing and Robinson were never back to the basket bigs. They were way more versatile than that. Only a child would classify them that way, especially in the context of current NBA play.

Target or Walmart… everyone needs toiletries and hygiene products or household utilities. Everyone goes to those places. Dudes are just scary

"During his prime, Hakeem Olajuwon would typically average around 16.7 post-up possessions per game which means he would post up on nearly every other offensive possession in a game, making him one of the most prolific post-up players in NBA history"

Compared TO Jokic

"Nikola Jokić, the Serbian center for the Denver Nuggets, led the NBA in post-up possessions per game last season with 5.2. He was the only player in the league to have at least five post-up possessions per game."

Numbers don't lie. Even children can count.

Again, I love the modern game but can we stop comparing the 50s, 60s, 70s with the 80s to the present?

The highest scoring teams were from the 80s btw. The 1980s nuggets averaged 125. The 90s and 2000s are closer in skill, to the present day.

Dudes comparing the 1960s with the 2020s trying to be slick :lol

Hakeem did that while guarding 1-5. David Robinson guarded 1-5 also… Jok‘s defense pails in comparison:lol :lol

Hakeem could have but stylistically bigs were not defending 1-5. Guard the post. Guard the paint.

Today you have to defend the rim, protect the lob, contest the mid range, occasionally blitz and pray you don’t have to guard Steph.

Mark eaton and Dennis Rodman were all stars/all nba guys too

Rodman is in the HOF.
Eaton was an All-Star just once, 1989. Crazy to think a two time DPOTY and 5 time 1st or second defensive team member made the all star team once….

Hmmm maybe because the competition was thick?
