Opening Knicks pacers at the garden had lower ratings than a random ACC football game between 2c teams that I can't even remember.They’re still fine. The new, super lucrative TV deals didn’t go anywhere. The franchises are still more valuable than ever. NBA players are still bigger stars individually than guys from other sports (except for a few NFL quarterbacks and Shohei Ohtani).
The fact that ratings are trending down a bit in November isn’t really probative of a long term problem.

Unfortunately if the teens keep going in this direction, changes will need to be made. It won't matter much about the current tv deals if you have to backtrack on the next deal.
That's what it's all about... The next deal.
To add, I believe that Mark Cuban saw the writing on the wall and got out while he could sell at it's highest point.
And, I wonder how many defending NBA champs were for sale less than a year after winning a ring?
