The Official NBA Season Thread: All 30 Teams Playing Tonight

A gentleman's sweep is a loss followed by 4 straight wins. The 4 wins is the sweep, letting the other team get a win first is the 'gentleman'

Chris Paul is a problem for the Suns

He's won't shoot a spot up unless he's super wide open, he's messing up the spacing.
and if he gets stuck on Murray he's BBQ chicken.

Grant Hill is awful. Dude stayed trying to will the Suns to victory with his commentary.

Isnt a gentlemans sweep the other way around. Win 3, lost the 4th win the last.

EYE think you're both right.

Did some googles and the only thing EYE saw is that a gentleman's sweep is when a team wins a series 4-1.

There is no set game the winning team must lose in order to get the gentleman's sweep distinction.

Naw gentlemans sweep is def not just 4-1. Winning the first, dropping the 2nd then winning the rest isnt it. Has to do with we won 3, we'll "give you this one" and win it in 5.

I always felt it made more sense when a team won 3 straight and then losing game 4 before winning game 5

EYE agree with this perspective but there doesn't seem to be a defined criteria for which game the ultimate loser of the series win as long as the series ends in 5 games.
