I think he was the most skilled center in history when you take in all facets of his game.

I mean he got a quadruple double in a professional basketball game, I don't even know man.

His moves were second to none, most fluid big man to ever play the game.

This guy was a soccer player and basically built his whole game off of that, he moved like a dancer with the power of a lion.

He made the best defender at his position of the time besides himself look like a D-League player. (David Robinson also very underrated)

His defense was also just as impressive as his offense, he had no holes at all in his game.

I just hope Karl Anthony Towns is watching his tape because he can be 2.0 and I'm sure he is because the kid is dedicated.

Hakeem the greatest big man, imo. I don't care what nobody says. This dude had NO holes in his game. He'd cook you on offense and swat your weak ish on defense. Quadruple double??? Dude was the business!! Hell of a fun player to watch too! Honestly surprised he didn't win more rings cause like Monta Ellis, he had it ALL!

gahhh damn...just checked shaq stats...he averaged at least...bare minimum...30 pts...for 15 yrs straight....between the years 1992-2007.

averaged 40 twice.

averaged 39 twice.

averaged 38 three times.

good lord.
Um....you sure you are looking at the right stats sir?

my man. per 100 possessions.

ahhh. missed that part.

Kyrie will be fine against Curry.

You don't need to guard Steph and try and lock him down.

Dude is getting 30 period, and his shot off, period.

You are better off giving him some space to work and defending the pass or hoping he misses. Pressure, yea not needed.

That finals schedule is very good for the players so they have proper rest.

Very bad for us because we will be exposed to more post game hot takes.

Something about a finals game on a Friday don't feel right

Moved it for travel reasons and accommodating the 2-2-1-1-1 format.

Catching up on the thread, did not know the Lakers were favored in 2008, Celtics had the best record in the league and at that point, Luke Walton & Vladimir Radmanovic were starting for us. Crazy stuff. Guess Bean was that highly though of.

no one really expected us to do much that season and we only got pau half way through the season

even then the finals run was not exactly expected by anyone except for lakers fans

I remember that season. I seemed like Kobe had one foot out the door. Then they traded for Pau and Kobe won his first and only MVP. I think him winning MVP and him being perceived as the best player in the series was the reason they were favored in that series.

That ain't true. Once y'all stole Pau for some beef jerky, EVERYONE penciled you guys in for the Finals. Not sure if there's a way to go back on Niketalk archives but I know for a fact that instantly made y'all the deepest team without having to give up Odom.

What are you talking about, Luke never started. He was the 8th/9th man. It was

Fisher

Kobe

Odom

Vlad

Pau

If I remember correctly we were in the top 4 in the west before Bynum got hurt. Then Pau came and we took off.
