Cavs shouldn't give him one, dude left to the enemy team

I know you don't listen to podcasts but as usual, JvG speaking basketball brilliance

Jeff Van Gundy: 5/31/16 Zach and Jeff Van Gundy preview the 2016 NBA Finals, and share some leftover thoughts from Thunder-Warriors. https://www.espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=15858852

I like Lowe and JVG and I get that it's frustrating being part of a media that's full of nonsense but I wish they would tune it out a little bit more. I don't think fans of Zach Lowe are interested in hearing him battle hot takes. We know all of that stuff is dumb. He's out here getting heated over Twitter trolls. Might as well hop in this thread and join the LeTwitter Fingers discussion.

JVG claims to always keep it real - calling out players, refs, league execs for any tiny error - meanwhile he doesn't dare question any coach ever. Doesn't even hide the bias.

With that said, OKC definitely lost their composure in Game 7. It's just what happens when you're playing one of the best teams ever at home and they're going on a hurricane like run. Doesn't mean OMG they choked!!

I don't think this Warriors teams ever it's just curry and Kay don't miss

Question from JvG: Why is it whenever someone plays tough defense on someone else, and they force bad shots (and miss), we have to use the "he chocked" narrative? RE: KD Choking.
In which game are we talking about?

Great article on how much of a problem Kyrie and Love are on defense.

The level that Lowry played at when they defended him vs anybody was basically multiplied.

Irving numbers giving up drives to the rim is :x.

If the Cavs want a real chance at winning, Delly is going to have to play more minutes than Kyrie and we know that's not happening.

This was Lowry we were talking about, not the greatest offensive force in the history of the game.

Lue talking about he wanna play fast. :lol

Son already booked the villa in Cabo with that new contract money I see.

Left? Bron traded him away

Damn, yall really just gonna keep trolling until game time huh. Greatest offensive force in the history of the game huh :rollin

since when do players traded away mid season get chips. thats stupid and dont even make sense.

gs is just a bad matchup for the cavs. you need defense and length to bother the warriors. cavs dont have that anywhere. gs are better at nearly every position.... they arent going to beat gs trying to run with them. i really dont see anyway the cavs can realistically win this series.

curry>kyrie

klay>jr

igoudala<lebron

dray>love

bogut ,tristan =toss up.

Other names are arguable, MJ being one of them, but putting Curry up there is really not that laughable. Don't pull a Russ, b. Don't go out like him.

because great offense will always and forever beat great defense...

that's why if everyone labels your 'one of the best offensive players ever' (durant)...then you should be scoring in those moments..

durant didn't choke, he tried his hardest...westbrook did choke though.

The homage is crazy this year. Hope bron beats them so all this hyperbole can seize for a summer at least.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

If KD was passing it to his teammates we'd be having the "Why doesn't Kevin Durant want the ball with the season on the line?" argument instead of this one.

He could've passed it to Roberson, Waiters, or whoever else was on the floor but do you really want the fate of your season in their hands? I want the ball in my best player's hands & living with the results.

I think it was @dland24 who said GS was playing 'hero ball', too but their shots were going in so no one says a word.

Hero ball isn't inherently bad. Every team that has ever won a game let alone an NBA championship has done so with the help of hero ball. It's just a part of the game. When one player can have a great impact, one player often will. It is what it is. But when your entire offense is only hero ball, then there's a problem. When the only plays your team seems to run for entire quarters are isos and pick and rolls for the same guy(s), then there's a problem. When multiple possessions pass where only one or two people touch the ball while the rest of the team spectates, then there's a problem. Getting constant good looks for role players is just as important as it is for stars. No one is winning without the help of their role players. No one.

That's the thing about choking it seems like we label everyone who loses a choker... and it's ridiculous

For years while slandering Bron i called him a choker not because he missed the shots, but because he let the moment take his confidence. He's improved a little bit over the years but there's still lapses where you can tell he just isn't playing the same and it's not due to the Defense.

What KD did game 7 wasn't a choke, however the game prior i believe was the game where he & russ started turning it over late in the game, taking horrible shots etc etc just being flustered. I'll live with my stars taking and missing shots as long as my star is focused and not just giving the game away.

There are different ways to play hero ball. The way Russ and KD were going about it was bad cuz there was no ball movement. And they weren't really moving without the ball to catch the ball in a spot where they can maximizing their shooting. It was basically asking for the ball where they can get it and make something happen out of nothing.

Steph and Klay move without the ball way better and they rarely run just straight isos.

Steph is really known for making something out of nothing yea but even he toned down the shaken and bakin and taking contested 3s off the dribble cuz he wasn't really making them until the last game.

Steph really toned down his shot selection for this series by his standards.

Lebron is one of the most misunderstood criticized player I have ever seen... A lot of people label him a choker for losing in the Finals... In the 7 Finals he made.. He probably faced 6 teams that was better than his... Most of those finals he didn't have a HOF squad and with HOF caliber coach.
