@coolcool you're right the 8s did have the bumps but like eskymo said they were not as prominent. Tbh I don't think the bumps on the 8 did much to stop slipping at all. Definitely does the trick with the 9s.

Yeah they didn't do anything at all. Also the Kobe elite socks that were made for the shoes didn't help either.
