IMO a whoooooole lot of that jewelry that was just posted was ridiculously garbage. Never thought I'd say this but I think this gaudy mess needs to end, it just looks horribly tacky to me now. I'm finding a greater appreciation for more subtle accessories like Pharrell's new charm pendant thing thing.... *shrugs* Ain't my money though.

It's all about stunning them with the crazy detailed, make em double take work. On some "damn let me see that..."

I don't think subtle jewelry is oxymoronic. Yes diamonds and gold are known to be expensive and flashy but that doesn't mean it has to be outlandish, ridiculous and tacky.
 
Case in point:

His pendant, watch, ring, and bracelet are all huge and gaudy. Yes the stones are nice and even the craftsmanship looks good but, imo, it just looks tacky.

Surprisingly Baby has a setup that isn't gaudy at all. A SUBTLE setup.
