I though most of ya'll still had your 2017s. Most of us are collectors with more than enough pairs for them to last. But then again, this is the AM1 thread so assuming ya'll ran through them?

Think I had 7 og reds, mostly 100's. Think I'm down to 1 ds. That's 9 years and its easily my most worn colorway so going through 1 a year or so makes sense bc I like them to be somewhat fresh. Them going with the bb threw me off and that's why I've run out of pairs. I expected to get more pairs in 2022 and that didn't happen so ive had to tread lightly the last few years lol.

Unfortunately same thing happened with the new Infrared 90s. They switched the toebox material but luckily I still have 3-4 pairs of the 2020's left so I'll survive until the next retro bc I'll pass on these.

Never knew this about 90s. I didn't even know they made more Infrareds since 2020. That 2020 pair was perfection. Mine is still DS for some odd reason but I love them.

Yea the pair that's about to release has a 3m toebox or something stupid like that. I couldn't help but smh. Like why?

I don't have a pair of patta waves and the off white one is good to me. I see no issue with the orange either. I thought a couple colors of the original releases were ugly so to each his own.

I asked AI (doesn't know) but this thread is definitely more knowledgeable.

Been running around foot stores and such lately: seeing a bunch of "Neon" inspired models had me wondering;
Has there ever been an AM1 with "AM90 Infrared" inspired colorway or any infrared / solar red / hyper crimson etc at all?

I do remember Huaraches "DNA" pack with red and royal, seems like plenty of other models use the AM1 as inspiration but not the other way around.

*Also it must be a requirement to not know anything about sneakers to work at foot stores.
Associate came up to me and excitedly declared:
"Sick 90s man" "Did you get those from one of the resell shops" - then proceeded to not segue into demo'ing the cleaning kit, laces, or rly anything pertinent.

*I had on NBYs that are beat, not even close to any current am90 cw, and might not be recoverable.

Instead confidently pointed me to a bunch of Vomeros and Pegasus (which are amazing comfort-wise for me) but had nothing to do with the convo.

I mean at least he didn't start showing me "ON" shoes - despite me wearing my best fintech bro vest - so ya, another missed opportunity by the worker.

*end old man yelling at the weather rant. I think this rant happened because I spent way too much time in LA over ASW and being surrounded by hype.

Totally forgot about the heal on the icons. The icons is a cool collector piece imo. But I know I wouldn't be able to wear them.

At the time, I hoped they do an "icon" pack in this color blocking with all the classic AM colors. I thought thats what the "dna" thing was all about.

I still might give this a try on a beater golf pair, possibly add some black + wolf grey to follow the 90 a bit closer

Another one of my customs / ruined them, hurry throw them away lol.

I finally got all the bleach yellowing out.
Rit white wash did the trick.

Original plan was a dodgers/️ cw
Then was a "multi curry" that failed because all attempts at mixing to match the am1 curry just resulted in various shades of

I guess I could keep them as is too.

I dislike the aged midsole
So I might have to bust an illustrayt and sole swap them first lol.

Possibly re dye later on since they will certainly get dirty real quick.
