What’s good yall. Picked up a pair of air max 1 atmos elephant prints for a steal….but they’re gonna need a midsole swap. Wanted to get recommendations on a donor if anyone has had to swap theirs already. Appreciate any tips yall can offer.

What other movies has AM1s in them?it's silly but every time I see a character in a show/movie wearing a pair of AM1s and AJ1s i always nod in approval and verbally say "okay, i see you with the air maxes/jordans"

Idk what it was but this shoe got really small for me. I ended up selling my pair because they were uncomfortable. Such a dope shoe (except the fuzzy suede)

Discussing the mental colourway names that we give these on another forum. Someone joked about the AM1 "Alabama Hot Pocket" and threw it into Chat GPT (I assume)
Overall vibe:
Uncomfortably nostalgic, gas-station cuisine meets backyard family reunion energy. It looks wrong… but you can’t stop staring.
Upper:
Sail / off-white mesh base, slightly yellowed like an old undershirt that’s seen too many summers.
Cracked leather mudguard in a pale beige or “biscuits & gravy” tone, with a worn, almost greasy finish.
Deep crimson accents (mini Swoosh, lace eyelets) referencing hot sauce or cheap ketchup packets.
Overlays & details:
Plaid or faded flannel pattern on the heel panel—subtle, like something you’d only notice up close.
Stitching intentionally mismatched: white, cream, and red threads mixed together.
Heel embroidery could be a tiny waffle-house-style diamond or a cryptic symbol that feels “inside joke” Southern.
Midsole & outsole:
Aged white midsole, pre-yellowed like it’s been sitting in a glove box since 2004.

Maaaan i love the black/brown/grey colorblocking with the safari print overlay. Such a well executed shoe. But this pair has been so elusive for me. Seen them on ebay in my size for $600-$1000. Too rich for my blood.
a NDS pair in great condition has been available at $300 but .5 size above mine. But any time ive gone .5 up, they end up looking like clown shoes on me
