Sooooo last year we bought a new house and I was pumped to have a nice big new space to keep my hundreds of pairs of sneakers. We moved in during the spring, and my dopey self didn't realize just how humid my dark basement sneaker room actually was until the fall, at which point I immediately put in a dehumidifier. I also haven't really worn the vast majority of my shoes during COVID, because I've barely left my house for 16 mos.
Well, in case you don't know, dark + cool + humid + sneakers =
(The black inside the sneaker on the lining is sock fuzz, btw - not funky mold lol)
Thankfully, a little vinegar/water mixture, a few minutes of effort and a quick brushing later, this is how they turned out:
Could probably use another quick touch-up, but not bad at all.
Problem is I'm gonna have to do this for probably 50-100 of my pairs that are on the bottom shelves of my racks
