It's cool man no need. They do have more of a curve. But the pinnacles are different to the new Atmos IMO. Way better shaped and midsole is not banana at all on my pairs. Super happy with them.
To me banana shape doesn't refer to the midsole curving upwards towards the front of the shoe. It refers to the whole shape of the top edge of the midsole, from back to front.
Here's a good example of what I mean
From the back of the shoe the midsole top edge starts (1) as an almost horizontal line, but then at (2) makes a strong curve down to start bending up again from (3).
Now I'm the first to admit that you will find slight variations on this on different shoes, mentioned features will sometimes be less obvious on other pairs.
Especially the (3) part bending up again tends to be less visible mainly on larger sizes, but (1) & (2) always are, sometimes as strong as on this pic, sometimes slightly less.
But if you look at 100s of pics these features are unique to these China releases.
Yes you will find Indonesia and Vietnam pairs that will show hints of these features, but never as strong and not as often as on these China shoes.
Same features can be found on these Pinnacles, although on this pair (3) is less obvious (same features are very obvious on that vague pic of the new Royals in that plastic box).
Compare to my Indonesian pair
where the midsole top edge has a much smoother curve, especially (2) and (3) even almost aren't there.
Again, yes you will be able to find pairs of this shoe with slightly more curves, but never in the same way as the China pairs. This also applies to the Vietnam midsoles of the past few years, they were similar to this Indonesia pair. Problem with the Vietnam pairs was their ever more boxy becoming toeboxes.
The midsole on these Atmoses is the same as the one used on Kumquats, CXs, Safaris and so on, and on the shoes in pic 1 & 2. All made in China.
