The NBA Draft Thread

I see NBAdraft.net and Draftexpress projecting him to be a SG/SF.. no interest in having him play PG?

At 18, his skills and IQ are disgusting. I wonder how his athleticism evolves or if it stays similar to where he's at now. He's just a tad slow of foot

His size is also pretty ridiculous

It's important to remember Dean is just a Duke student that gambles and loves the NBA.

He is...you can feel the excitement in his writing, the type of excitement you would see in someone young and naive in some ways.

But if he's a college student doing this. more power to him. 8)

Absurd :lol

Hinkie's going to be heading another franchise the second after his non-compete expires.

The Knicks are the team that needs to hire him.

I'm sure Hinkie is drooling to tear the Organization apart. It's the perfect challenge for him, starting with trading Dolan for a second round pick. He should have three-year contracts as a deconstruction specialist then give the reigns to another GM and move on to the next organization.

Orlando, Portland, and the Kings should come right after the Knicks. that's a good 12 year run until the Knicks will need his services again in 2029.

You answered your own question as to why he wouldn't be a PG

You essentially are what you have the ability to defend.

You also mentioned his lack of footspeed

Simmons, Greek, Harden etc. "play PG" or will play PG or can play PG. I don't think either of them guard the opposing PG

I believe his value increases if he's able to play PG

I don't think it's determined yet whether or not he could guard PG's either... I've never seen a full game so idk, I've only seen highlights

Lol, Lavar Ball was on SportsNation just now, Beadle asked him some question about raising his children and Ball responded with "you know the only folks that ask me those types of questions? White people."

Got real, real quick

One of the best segments in ESPN history. I was dying.

Doncic is a problem, had my eye on him for a while but was waiting till next year to nerd out.

Top of the 2018 draft is solid.

Beadle with the 2.2 sign had me dying :lol. Lavar def had the old man at the YMCA game

And to think that Boston still has a chance to draft Luka or Porter :x

Isiah Thomas (28), Bradley (26) and Horford (30) will hold the fort down until Brown (20), Fultz (18) and Luka/ Porter start to blossom.

None of them are point guards.

They are just the dominant ball handlers on their teams.

If they don't defend PGs, they aren't PGs.

Harden is a SG

Freak is a SF

Good job Mr. Ball

Alrighty.

Well then let me rephrase, whenever dude gets in the league, I'd wonder if he gets pegged into a role similar to these guys

Reading various articles on him, seems like the writers project him to be a SG but also say he's been the primary ball handler at Real Madrid alongside Llull. They also say he actually possesses the athleticism to develop into a potential above average on ball defender. Looks like the team website lists him as a "PG" as well

I think that is due to bim playing with Sergio Llull. He has always been playing off the ball throughout his career.

If he was playing with a "real Pg" (Rubio/Calderon/Rodriguez) he wouldn't be a "pg" for them

Without getting caught up in semantics, he looks like he can project to be a primary ball handler
