i actually think rockhold can outstrike lyoto.

Never said he couldn't. I just stated Machida's strengths in the match up.

It doesn't mean Rockhold can't out strike him. Anderson Silva AND Machida are great counter strike. Both got the work from Weidman.

Lyoto can make any fight tricky. His weird angles, timing and counter striking are one of a kind. Personally see it 50/50

Could easily see either one getting caught with a heavy shot

If you think Rockhold ain't got nothing for Machida then why do you think he would fare well against Da Chris??

It was stated earlier, but basically counterstriking and ability to control the fight on the feet in general. Whatever Rockhold does, Machida can do it better, except possibly ground game.

As far as Weidman, I just think Rockhold has a chance because he's a big middleweight and a high level striker, even if he's not necessarily as high as Machida. His ground game is also very strong. Those last 2 rounds of Weidman Machida showed me that Weidman can definitely get caught by a high level aggressive striker. Not so much that I think Rockhold has a better chance than Machida, but it's just a fresh matchup that could be interesting if Rockhold goes in there confident enough.

This is the card the UFC needs to HYPE. They have a good match up with Barao/Dillashaw, the top star in the LW division (like make him out to be Michael Jordan) and the second best women's fighter who just happens to be marketable.

Pretty sure Diaz whined about the fight and the numbers so they just decided screw it and call it off. Diaz was on MMA Hour yesterday explaining how the UFC never officially offered Diaz the fight with Brown and felt disrespected

Honestly a Diaz/Pettis fight would be picture PERFECT for a Fox card. Diaz would talk all sorts of trash and put out a stylistically great scrap

Barboza is a horrible matchup for Nate. He would most likely get finished with leg kicks.

And i feel sorry for Jury. Showtime going to give him that work.

 Might as well give Nate an opponent he DOESN'T LIKE, like Pettis, to make it an entertaining grudge match

If not Pettis then give Nate another striker like Barboza, at least make it entertaining. Nobody wants to see Nate get taken down for 15 minutes, give him a stand and bang opponent

Damn feeding Jury to the sharks. They should be moving him along carefully since he is so young. Shame.

As for Machida vs rockhold. Been watching some of their recent fights. I don't think rockhold has anything for machida. His wrestling is not better than Weidmans so he won't be taking him down. And his boxing technique is average. That left hand sits too low. Especially when he throws kicks.

Taking Machida by tko in the 2nd or 3rd.

Phil took a huge chance by not negotiating before his last fight. If he would've won he would've been closer to a title shot and UFC probably would've re-signed him. But since he lost and is labeled as boring, they probably didn't see him as someone they had to sign back.
