The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

I do have to agree with some purple mcgregor and DC both had similar scenarios to get the tittle **** but they did help sell the hell outfit there fights prior but rumble I feel like has been through hell and bad and is now finally getting a shot. Yea he had a tighter road but maybe he will actually come out on top unlike the other two

Cormier had serious credentials coming into the Bones fight.

It's overlooked but dude won the strikeforce heavyweight tournament which was stacked. He had also beaten several forner Pride and UFC champions.

Conor's run is waaaay more like the Jones ascension.

Jones won six UFC fights and had the DQ, so he was sort of on a seven-fight win streak going into his Shogun fight. The other thing we have to remember is, Jones was never scheduled to fight Shogun. It was supposed to be Rashad Evans but he got hurt and UFC being UFC had to find a fill-in.

The thing we also have to remember is Jones was just as tall, had the same long reach and an amateur wrestling background.

I'm not discounting Connor's d-league championships in featherweight and light weight, nor am I discounting his speed, foot work or crisp striking.

Connor has made this build up enjoyable and brought drama and intrigue to a fighter who was struggling to garner interest. I hope that Connor's performance is on par with Chael Sonnen's first fight with Anderson Silva.

I hope this mcgregor fight lives up to the hype I'm pumped for this fight. Love to see mcgregor also bang with edgar

Did Conor get paid a lot of money before he was even signed with the UFC?

I watched all six episodes of The Notorious and it looked like he had close to a quarter million in watches, easy.

Regardless can't wait for the fight.

When Conor loses I'll love to see him fed to Chad Mendes. I know Mendes can beat him.

lol chael's title shot was the worst...:x

-tried to take jones fight on 7 days notice after hendo gets hurt....

-jones declines...

-parlays that into "jones is scared of me, its my time, never fought a wrestler like me"

-idiots believe him and he gets an instant TS with no #1 contender fights, no gatekeeper fights

-proceeds to get washed

:rollin :rollin :rollin

scumbagggggg

That Rampage interview and promos during the last Fight Night seem to be a waste now. Bellator won a preliminary injunction keeping Rampage out of UFC 186.

If Conor loses and its not even close, he'll end up going up to 155 lbs and be thrown into immediate title contention like Sonnen.

Nah, ole boy said was on welfare until he debuted with the UFC

It seems he has blown a lot of his money on material things

No one believed him. Even mma fans aren't that dumb.

They just needed an opponent to throw at jones. Good company guy for wanting to step up to help them out and he gets people talking.

Which Chael Title Shot are we talking about? He's had three?

In my post, I was referring to the first Silva/Sonnen fight. Dude absolutely storched Anderson for them five rounds until he got chocked out with the hail mary. He definitely looked legit (but then again he was probably on PEDs...but now we know Anderson does PEDs too).

And Connor was on welfare, lol. Besides the suits, I haven't really seen anything to show he's making the classic athlete spending mistake. Hopefully, he's making investments or has a plan for post MMA.

Benson Henderson and Jorge Masvidal have agreed via Twitter to face off at UFC 186 since Rampage won't be fighting

Looks like at 170 because Benson can't cut that much weight in time

Should be interesting for various reasons

he said something like he spends all his money so he can stay hungry and work hard
i dont know how true that is, but he needs to hire a financial advisor

He's bought his girl, Dee Devlin, at least one car and possibly one Range Rover before he was in the UFC.

If their last outings are anything to go by Bendo is going to murder dude.

Good of them to step up though. That whole card has been decimated :{

"@BensonHenderson: Thx for the offer boys, @GamebredFighter @PendredMMA, but looks like I just got my dance card stamped...#Respect #RealRecognizeReal" From Bendos twitter

Bendo and Masvidal isn't happening. I'm hoping it's the Michael Johnson fight. Matt Brown recently tweeted he has a announcement coming soon. Dudes saying it might be Bendo vs Brown. Probably reaching tho.

They should really find a top contender for Jorge. Dude is a veteran of the sport and is begging for top flight competition

Would prefer for Benson to fight someone coming off a win, and for Brown to fight a lower caliber fighter to snap out of his two fight skid

Nate Diaz vs Matt Brown at welterweight :smokin

Question... How do you think Michael Johnson would fair against RDA??

REALLY looking forward to Masvidal/Ianquinta and Mendes/Lamas

Hope Diamond Poirier can get a win as well being at the LW division

I think Johnson has quicker hands but from RDA's fight with Pettis, he has the striking power and grappling advantage

They need to make Diaz v Brown but will Diaz get busted for weed? What's the deal with that

Johnson would definitely give RDA a run for his money but still give the edge to RDA. Johnson shown exceptional counter striking and has a solid wrestling base. Stylistically I don't think he poses any obvious problem for RDA

Surprised that Nate would get Matt Brown next. Is it confirmed or just a rumor? Figured they'd make Diaz v Pettis next giving how much they dislike each other and keep asking to fight.

Random that Nate is going to WW but tbh he isn't going to compete either at LW nor WW so it doesn't matter

This should be a great match stylistically but I fear both men are on the downsides of their respective careers. Should be a barn burner

Since they're not doing Nate Diaz v Anthony Pettis, I'm praying they give Pettis to Michael Johnson or Edson Barboza
