More than anything, jon retiring on top is good for the sport. It pushes the sport forward if he can have that Khabib storybook ending.

Been a long, crazy road for Jon…I just want to see him close the chapter on his own terms and get the roses he deserves.

UFC/MMA needs more happy endings.

It’s pretty sad how 98% of fighters go out/retire.

Bellator pay overall probably isn’t great either, but it probably is a lot better as far as a percentage of overall revenue goes.

They split about 35-45% of revenue I think. But I think that only means the big names get about 150-300k.

Proportionally that's good. But we know there revenue isn't great. Viacom probably just keeps it afloat while it operates in the red. The only profit that comes in is from gates, memorabilia, etc. UFC got that massive ESPN deal, gates, Fight Pass, endorsement deals, EA, etc.

Unless Viacom wants to make a run at being a serious #2 or #1, things will be the same. Fighter Pay isn't changing. It's crazy...PFL needs to play their cards right...they can aim in on #2.

bellator needs a serious overhaul and rebranding. Thought their events with mma and kickboxing fights were cool.

Bellator stretches themselves too thin for how much talent they have, too many shows. Every card has like 1, maybe 2 good fights and that's pretty much it

Wish they would just go the Strikeforce route and stack cards but then again I don't know their financial structure. Maybe they are forced to have a lot of shows due to sponsors or network deals

But their top talent is elite. I don't remember the last stacked card they had. If they would just have 3-4 stacked cards per year that would def give them much more momentum and visibility/hype

They do have some stars strewn across their roster, Nemkov, Pitbull, Pettis, Horiguichi, McKee, etc.

I think PFL can come up if they can do a little more free agency and scouting.

I don’t disagree. Honestly. I wasn’t arguing they had the same level of talent. They don’t.

They have a few stars. But they do have thei tournament. And if they more heavily pursued free agency and scouted (something not even the UFC really does). If they had three scouts, they could probably scour the minor leagues, etc.

Coker is a good business man and good hearted. He pays his guys well. The tourney
/grand prix winners get a mill on top of their contracted purses. Chandler, josh, corey, rumble etc all talk glowingly about Coker n their deals.

Even guys like AJ Mckee who wanna come to UFC and face the best acknowledges hed be giving up alottt to leave.

I think he primarily pays the bills off the network deals

PFL only has a handful of guys that are near UFC level, some of their tourney champs wouldn't even crack top 15. Also PFL has partnered with Fubo to carry their Challenger series (think Strikeforce's Challenger series if youre familiar), this could work but I dont know anyone with a Fubo subscription. If they are able to hold more of these shows around the country that could also strengthen the brand. One thing I really don't get is them having PPV's in 22', no one is going to buy one even for $10-$20. They really should have tried to partner with someone like Hulu, Showtime or even Dazn.
