What if Francis' knee injuries are career ending?

Cyril definitely needs to go back to the lab to shore up his grappling and wrestling take down defense. He also needs to see if he can continue to grow under Ferdinand's tutelage.

In hindsight, with Cyril/Ngannou and Ngannou/Miocic 2, Francis made the right choice to change camps.

There's zero indication that his knee injury is career threatening, I don't see that being an issue or at least if it was that serious we would be hearing about it right now

It would suck for Gane to never get a rematch, especially if he were to beat Stipe or Blaydes etc. I personally want to see them fight again some day

Jon fights with a different mentality, I think he beats most of the HW’s…..they are slower, less technical and less athletic.

205 is pretty much peak power x athleticism.

The allure here is…..what does Jon look like THESE DAYS and at HW?

I think Jon’s return will be the big HW storyline for 22

Jon could possibly go for double champ status this year…it’s not out the realm of possibility.

He gets the winner of Glover x Jiri

Assuming he wins, he could jump up and challenge for HW, wether it’s an vacant title fight with gane or a fight with Francisco. I think he beats em both.

Jon has benefited the most from Saturday’s outcome.

Could be a big year for him, if he don’t **** it up

Derek has actually become very good over the years, the way he sets traps and uses the cage is terrifying for guys.

He just has problems with long athletic HW’s which honestly most of the thicker/bigger guys do.

Most of the HW chanps have been longer, athletic guys…there is a pattern there.

Jon lost to Reyes and Santos. On top of being petrified to strike with OSP. He's got nothing for Francis Nurmagomedov. And probably nothing for Stipe pre-Francis either, who knows now though. Gane is probably too green and needs better TDD and/or subs along with just better striking, but with better TDD and the fact that Jon can't bust a grape, I think he could up the aggression against Jones like he did with Derrick Lewis. **** even Jiri might be a problem for Jon but I want to see how he deals with Glover's grappling first before I say all that.

But basically I say all that to say, Jon has been on his last legs. And going up in weight to fight killers when he's never had any type of knockout power and he lost to the last two killers he fought at 205, I'd bet the house he's getting stretched .

But who knows, maybe he can prove me wrong.

Well of course not immediate, but if he went out and beat a top contender there's no reason he wouldn't deserve a rematch down the road

And let's not act like the fight wasn't close by UFC scoring rules. The 5th round was close

Biggest hurdle gonna be that contract. He wants to get paid just like Francis or we would of seen him by now.

If Jons striking skill set carries with him up to a heavier weight, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jon washes Francis.

Francis is very hittable especially when he’s already breathing out his mouth at the end of the 1st round. Jon still has the longer reach so he’ll be able to snipe him with kicks and other strikes without being in front of Francis power.

Even with Francis wrestling, you can tell he’s still very raw, and when he took Gane down the first time, you saw him thinking of his next move and how to transition/position himself. Compared to a more experienced wrestler/grappler who knows naturally what to do next.

The big question would be how would Jon deal with the mass of Francis (pause) in the clinch/up against the the cage. But in the center of the octagon, I can see Jon just chopping at them legs over the course of the fight, and then catching Francis with his signature low-high kick to the head when he’s completely exhausted

Jon's proven to be hittable too though... and if he is hit by these HW's with much more power it'll be interesting to see if his chin holds up

Like black cease mentioned, Jones isn't really showing that he's still improving if anything it can be argued that he is declining

Not only that but he's been out of the game for quite some time now, by the time he gets back it'll have been at least over 2 years since competing

And again I will always give Nicksick the benefit of the doubt to game planning

I mean Jon does train with the Legion of Doom in AZ. Despite my thinking Moreno won, I can give them credit for adding to Figgy’s game.

But there’s so many questions with him. How does he perform at the higher wait? Are his last two performances a result of disinterest or decline? How does he deal with the higher KO power of his new opponents?

Crazy how NFL/NBA players complain about playing in California for away games. The state taking half of their game checks in state taxes… and you got Francis and Moreno defending titles for $600k & $200k

Figgy could be big too with the God of War hair cut, swag, and destruction in the cage.
