The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Pride solved the eyepoke problem like 2 decades ago with their gloves. Dunno why ufc don't use those gloves. rogan been saying the ufc has been designing new ones for 2 years now but still nothing.

Even if Goddard saw the eyepoke from stipe, he'd just give a warning for the first offense and give dc time to recover. dc's eye was bad and he couldn't see so if the doctor checked on it there's a good chance the fight would've been stopped and ruled a no contest or dq.

Anyway, o'malley got his skinny legs wrecked. Don't like that clown show riff raff copycat.

I swear I’ve been hearing about the ufc designing new gloves for about 10 years now. Even Bellator addressed this years ago:

Last night was tough

O Malley with a weird injury, and DC being blind in one eye for almost half the fight

He was clearly inhaling the gas of the promotion/hype. Dude didn’t even fight anyone in the top 15.

Like Shahbazyan...not mature/skilled yet. But at least it lets UFC know to take it slower. Hopefully not MVP slow...

Whenever he says "it's the sugar show" he sounds like a zesty boy in jail about to get gangbanged.

I don't like the kid, but his striking was looking good until his foot went dead. I remember when Cejudo Gawd's foot did the same thing and he kept rolling his ankle over and over but still managed to win the belt.

Also, espn keep that dumbass stephen a away from any ufc stuff. The stuff he was saying was idiotic. The guy doesn't know anything about basketball, football, baseball, mma, boxing, checkers, cornhole but espn puts him on everything since they pay him so much. All he knows is how to be loud and sound stupid.

He went all the way in

They are gonna get their money outta Stephen

I know I recommended this show years ago in this thread but Kingdom is on Netflix now if you haven’t checked it out. Legitimately good show period. Regardless of it being MMA or not

Yo. I watched all three seasons a few weeks ago. Jeez. It was a study of dysfunctional families. I was so numb by the end after all of the coke, heroin, alcohol, violent behavior. That dad was a real PoS.

And back to Sugah. Shogun brought up something all the pundits are saying today.

Sean lost due to a well timed calf kick. Which caused that leg droop and uncontrollable action. It was on show when Demetrius lost to Cejudo.

Makes Cejudos and Cody’s tweets accurate. Henry managed to overcome the adversity in round 1 to steal the title.

Dangerous fight for Oliveira in that darieush is tough as hell and a win won’t really do much for his stock. I mean I hope I’d be wrong on that but yeah

IDK ...

**** DC ... dude's always crying and **** ... he did major damage to Stipe eyes. I guess eye for and eye.

Not even sure why he was upset at the result. He clearly lost that fight period.

Someone said he was the champion of champions, how? Dude one a championship by default (Jones bonehead) and a well placed lucky punch. However, ones he fought Jones he got demolished and when he ran it back twice against Steven he got waxed ... this fight he was saved by the bell.

Then dude cries ... bah!

There is irony in his receiving that severe eye poke.

And DC just happened to exist in an era where the greatest LHW and one of the greatest fighters of all time fought. Same with Stipe. They’re both the best in their division history.

He also had another opponent. Father Time. Dude is 41 years old. A 41 year old shouldn’t be relevant in this day and age.

Sort of why I’m not crazy about Khabib/GSP. Having said that...if DC maintained himself like GSP. Maybe it would be different.

Cormier also was severely hated before he was an analyst. It wasn’t till he was on the air that he got some sort of love but prior, Jon Jones always stole his thunder.

Charles definitely deserves someone higher like Hooker or the Felder rematch. I thought Dariush should have gotten someone like Ferreira/Iaquinta/Islam.

I think Dariush is a good opponent for him. Oliveira is wild overrated.

Don't be surprised if Dariush KOs him.

Dariush is definitely capable of beating him, that's not really the point though. More so that Oliveria deserves a bigger fight

Nobody talks about Oliveria lol I don't see how he can be overrated. Legit the forgotten man of the division

He’s been talked about a lot as of late due to his win streak, but until Lee the wins were mostly meaningless. Lee is a good win, but we’ve watched him fail so many times as well.

In unrelated news:

I think Yusuff and Rakic take both those fights.

I wonder when were going to see Kron fight, been radio silence on him since losing to Cub.

I'm glad Stipe retained the belt which should setup the Ngannou rematch at the end of the year hopefully. DC definitely one of the best fighters the org has seen and has had a great career. I think he should hang them up and do commentary, coach wrestling/mma and be a family man.

^^^Do you think Stipe will struggle in a rematch with Ngannou?

What adjustments or improvements have he made since then?

Stipe made adjustments to dealing with the clinch. DC couldn’t really take him down (despite DC being heavy). And in the second fight, Stipe adjusted in the fourth round and begin hitting him in the mid section.

Wow at jones vacating

UFC 253 going to be really good with a co main event involving two title fights now
