Mike been called the greatest of all time for over 25 years. I dont think the moment is going away.
At a certain points, everyone's legacy slowly fades from where it was at it's peak.

One point in time, Jordan will not be considered the greatest.

I swear we forget how generationally biased those claims are.

LeBron is a better basketball player and has been under much more pressure his entire life but now is not the time for the debate.

let mike and his fans have their moment. In 5-10 years the narrative will be shifted when Bron starts truly being appreciated
Such egregious lies.

First sentence is a wild contradiction.

Better basketball player yet could never overcome this alleged pressure.

Dudes acting like LeBron was expected to take the Cavs to the finals or even the playoffs in his rookie season (even though Melo did). Mans ended up on a stacked team and still took multiple Ls in the finals.

We will all probably be dead by then though or in our 100s.

You talking that Big O, Wilt generational thing of time passing.

Until a player arrives that does better than what MJ did I'm laughing at these alleged goats being named.

Yes, that time most likely won't come until we are dead and gone.

Whos legacy is as relevant and as long lasting as Jordans? You got todays greats in the NBA that say the same thing.
You are losing perspective on what time is man.

What? Look man I know you want an argument. I have no idea what your comment means at all. Jordan was looked as the greatest years before he was done playing. They still look at him the same way now. You act as if this Jordan Goat thing is a fad right now. If Lebron was gonna wear that title, they would have given it to him by now. Perspective and all. I know how great Lebron is. I knew how great Kobe was. I appreciate great players. But when you got the likes of Larry, Magic, all the way to Shaq, Kobe , Lebron all with the same opinion, its hard to see how my perspective of time is lost.

Personal memories fade over time, but legacy doesn’t, thanks to technology. Mike’s rise was tracked with the advent of home video. LeBron’s generation was the last to really see MJ at his peak with the Bulls and be able to appreciate his contributions to the game at that moment.

As I mentioned previously, the "GOAT" conversation is a generationally biased conversation.

I just want people to be aware of that when they are presenting their arguments as fact.

That is all I am saying.

You mentioning how currently players and players of Jordan's era are saying that plays into my point.

Yep. We can make the argument that since the creation of trustworthy recorded video, Jordan is considered to be at the Top of the Food chain.

Older players of generations past don't have that luxury.

So when making the argument FOR Jordan, just keep that in mind. (Not talking to YOU just saying in general).

Which is why I said the cross-era arguments are too nuanced to be taken seriously.

I have one uncle thats see Bird as the greatest. My other sees Magic and Kareem as the greatest. Neither are wrong. Goat debate is always subjective I agree. I was never presenting a fact more than an overwhelming opinion. One of my best friends says its Kobe. They are fun arguments really. But no one can be truly right or wrong here.

Nah, people that engage in these conversations, for the most part, truly feel there IS a right or wrong answer.

They are still fun though. I always say defining the greatest is simply the best combination of individual and team success. The debates will never stop.
