Nice pics! Lovin' the JR./Tiger. I'd love to get my hands on that Swingman polo.

Trey rockin the Fury's. That's awesome. I heard in an interview that he's 5'11" now. Crazy! He wasn't even that tall when I saw himlast season.

There are A LOT more intimate pics like the ones above in the "Griffey on Griffey" book. That's where you'll find the exclusive shots likethe AGMII concept and locker room shots.

There's even a SUPER DUPER 2 page close up of my favorite Griffs.

WOW I've seen alot of griffey pictures before but never the ones towards the bottom

When I get home tonight I'll post what I got.

Griffey gives ailing Xenia teen a day to remember

SARASOTA, Fla. - The kinder, gentler side of Ken Griffey Jr. was in full-gale force, and Xenia's 13-year-old Andy Urschel was the beneficiary.

Urschel, who is battling Stage 3 melanoma, was at the Cincinnati Reds game Thursday, March 13, as part of the A Special Wish Foundation.

Griffey took batting practice, then joined Andy and his family near the Reds dugout for the next two hours, and the wide smile never left Andy's face.

First Griffey handed Andy his game-used bat and his batting gloves, then talked about siblings, cooking (Andy makes pancakes, Griffey loves chicken, but isallergic to fish), Tiger Woods, Shaq (his bad free-throw shooting percentage), amusement parks ("Ride the Tower of Terror in Disney World when you gothere"), and on and on and on.

Andy handed Griffey a stack of yellow index cards with questions, and Griffey shuffled through them, answering every question, most of them with an abundanceof humor.

"I like to do these, but I don't like the circumstances surrounding the kids," said Griffey. "But to me, it's necessary so the kids cancome out and have some fun. Maybe it helps them forget for a little while about what's going on in their lives."

Andy turned 13 Wednesday, topping his day-after birthday party by throwing out the game's first pitch.

Andy, a seventh-grader at Xenia Christian, said he was most impressed, "When he told me he was a Christian and when he said he hangs out mostly with hisfamily and kids.

"If they ever trade him, I won't like the Reds any more," he added. "I'll root for whatever team he is on. That was just amazing, and heis such a great guy."

He plans to put the bat and batting gloves in his bedroom and said with the smile still in place, "Nobody but Ken Griffey Jr. If I didn't get to seehim, I didn't want to see anybody.?

^ Yes, plus some really nice ones that sneakerheads would like. I'll post when I get home.

See the book in swingmanike's avy? All Griffey (sneaker) enthusiasts should own that. Especially one that is signed by the man himself.

you_big_dummy - I have to search my PC harder. I'll find the uncropped photographers proof of that pic.

In the meantime, here's a taste of what that book has to offer.

First pics is from the program when JR came back last year. It has a couple rare uniform pics. Tacoma minor league rehab uniform and throwback.

Are you sure those have an all-black upper, and that it's not the teal/black upper w/ the teal appearing darker because of the black/white picture and theheavy shading in the picture?

Nah. Sinner. The photo is black and white. So the shoe is Mariner/Emerald BUT what about the shoe do you guys see? It's what makesthese my top grail.

bigPUNoy - good stuff. Air Barrage (sp?) Faulks, right?

^ You talking about the extra decoration surrounding the small swoosh on the velcro closure behind the number 24?

Good eye but, no. Look at the shoe without paying real close attention to detail. It will come to you.

I'll have to post a pic if no one gets it.

The white sole with black accents instead of the black sole with white accents that is on the emerald/black GRs?

If that's it, you're right; I was looking too hard.

Yep. You got it. Griffeys AGMI PE Black/Emerald with white midsole. Also, notice the air bubble in the PE is teal as opposed to yellow (in the GR version).Basically, the PE is a black/emerald upper with a midsole of the white/black.

I would have likely never have noticed that teal bubble if you hadn't have just mentioned it.

But yeah, when you asked 'What do you see?' before, I looked at the pic like all extra hard.

Then when you said 'Look without paying real close attention', I left the forum, did the dishes, looked at my GR emerald/teal pair, finished thedishes, and then just looked at the pic real quick... and the midsole was the first thing I noticed... because I wasn't trying so hard this time.

I definitely like the white midsole one the PEs, but definitely like the lighter-colored air bubble on the GRs.

Yep you guys are right. I would have never figured that one out without comparing. Such a great shoe. Come on nike do something for the masses.

hahaha... I was looking really hard for the little details... but damn, thats right...
laugh.gif
and yeah, the white midsole look a lot nicer...

those dots on the strap are black on the GR's right?
