I love BB and I think he's probably the greatest coach of my time but I just realized. Since he took over, the AFCE is basically the AFCS. That division is terrible outside of NE. Jets had like two good years, Miami had one or two. That's it. I wonder what it would be like if he was in a better division. I think he's still winning a good amount but that division is trash.

our record outside of the division is still pretty good.

and i dont think any division is THAT great in the AFC.

The funny part is that i guarantee josh has called himself an idiot but the Robin Williams' of this board would still be like its not your fault josh.

What a profound thought. I dont think i ever heard anyone else say this **** ever.

I think NE would still be winning but I was just thinking about the Dolphins last night and how bad they've been. Then thinking about Watkins news and how awful they've been. Is that the worst division in the AFC if you remove the Pats?

Classless response from a guy from Boston, don't think this has ever happened.

You don't get it obviously, you should educate yourself on what addiction really is but you also show a lack of willingness to open your mind so you probably won't.

But when does it ever fall on the person? Because it sounds like a lot of people just make excuses for him

It is on him too, just like if you had diabetes you probably should exercise and watch what you eat.

Dez officially ruled out. Brice Butler's time to shine

If he goes to the Patriots, Packers, Panthers or somebody along those lines we know he's serious about football....watch him sign with the Dolphins or Rams so he can party in LA or South Beach every day.......

Jerry Jones is already working on a contract for Gordon.

Plenty of people have temporarily overcome addiction to obtain a goal. Im not giving Josh any type of pass for being mentally weak. He could have passed enough tests to not be in the program, and then burn to his heart's content.

The bigger issue is coaches and owners pushing their trainers to pressure players into pain killers to fulfill their skimp *** contracts. Weed is banned but they handing out vicodins like tic tacs. Let these boys smoke so they dont turn into full blown pill heads.

I got my own problems. Not riding for Josh at all. Just using common sense. NFL is corrupt as **** on a lot of levels. They out here peddling pills and taking away livelihoods over cannabis use. How is that okay?

Explain the reason you use "mentally weak"?

I get why this narrative exists, but...in the past 15 years:

.766 Win % vs. division opponents.

.741 Win % vs. non-division opponents.

If you open it up some more and check conference vs. non-conference during that same time frame, the numbers remain consistent and still hold up. Around mid to high .700's vs the AFC and NFC.

Add up 15 years of games, and they rank at the top of the league in each of those four categories. So reality is they beat everyone equally.
^That was my part of my reply the last time this came up. So it doesn't include the 3 wins from this season. *shrugs*

Would they lose some more games if they played in the AFCN or AFCW? I'd say yeah. But 15 years of beating everyone damn near equally tells us there probably isn't a significant shift taking place though.

On the flipside...in regards to what the overall goal is each season, I actually think playing in the AFCE has HURT them more than it's helped.

How? Well...Why outbid a team or push the extra mile to trade/sign better talent when you know you have enough to go 12-5 every year? Then 2006 happens, and there's a realization you ****** up so bad that you try to make up for it in the offseason heading into '07...

There's plenty of people with addictive personalities who abstained from marijuana and or alcohol use due to job prospects, probationary guidelines, or health reasons. Josh is plenty able to do the same. If he wants to play in the NFL, then follow their archaic rules in regards to recreational drug use.
If not, then go that Ricky Williams route and go smoke pounds of loud in a hut somewhere. Its up to him.

Well I hope Flash Gordon ends up in New England or Carolina
The coaches and management would help instill some discipline and stability in his life
this. I think part of the substance abuse problems is being with the browns. Having all that talent and being stuck on that team can drive anyone to substance abuse.

legit question, currently listening to bill simmon's 'Friday rollin' podcast..

what has mike Lombardi accomplished to speak with the authority that he does?

like I get the average joe blow spouting off because they'll never be in a position to have any say (and thus build a record of success or failure actually being charge).. but you would assume a guy who was once in charge of the browns would have some sort of empathy with some of this shhhh

And being friends with a loser like Manziel doesn't help either :{
Hope he's able to steer the ship back in the right direction

Nothing, he was a horrible GM.

But since so many good players/coaches/GMs are terrible media analysts, why can't a bad one be a good analyst?
