The Google Phone Vol. HTC made, Nexus One . $279 upgrade price, Verizon(Spring), Syncs w/iTunes!

Damn, I'm so tempted to cop but can't afford to right now financially. I'm eligible for the upgrade too. Might just hold off for the Leo

and yes the iphone is better than this phone at the point IMO

id say nexus 1 is a bit below the droid since the droid has verizon under its belt, and nexus 1 is on tmobile, theres no difference between the two when droid gets an update besides the n1 is slightly faster and the form factor

if you have the droid, dont be "damn the droid is outdated, i want the N1"

google needed something groundbreaking to put the n1 one the map, its not there

iphone was game changing
droid was game changing

n1= nada

and for the record, ive used the N1 already, its a good phone, but not much of an upgrade over the droid

Processor: Nexus One > Droid
Screen: Nexus One > Droid
Weight: Nexus One > Droid
Thickness: Nexus One > Droid
Nexus One = No P.O.S. keyboard...
Both on Verizon....

well i wrote that before i found out that both were going to be on verizon stupid, so obviously going to change things

and verizon already locked up all their droid users in 2 year contracts, the nexus 1 wont sell as much, and verizon isnt going campaign that much for the n1just like the Droid

SMH at you for assuming things, i dont think the iphone is the only phone

i came from a G1 then iPhone 3G/3Gs, and before i got my 3Gs, I was going to switch over to the Droid on the verizon network, but AT&T gave me a betterdeal, so I went to them

and its obvious, the iPhone 3Gs is a better phone now, tell me, what can the Droid do that the iPhone doesnt

the iPhone doesnt have any bugs that are major and along with their app supports from major companies, it clearly is the best phone on the market, the onlyreason why you are denying is that you are sick of the iphone and everyone and their moms have one or an ipod touch, so the interface is boring

and btw, i am the same, the only reason why i wanted the droid was verizon and a new interface, the iphone is getting boring, but there is no doubt about itthat it is the best and most polished phone on the market

Is homie still around that does the contract hook ups I need to dead my contract Im trying to get on this and I dont want to add another line or any of thatfoolishness seriously

Yep Verizon getting the Nexus One in Spring.

I wouldn't get the iPhone simply for the fact that they don't have good coverage at all where I live.
My sister has one and is always on EDGE, doesn't even ever get 3G around here.

The phone is cool and all but it doesn't blow me out of the water, it is just a very good phone.
I'm going to most likely get the Nexus One because it too is a very good phone.
I'm not one to argue about phones as there are plenty of good phones and I'd be just fine with an iPhone if I got good reception.

And I am not sure about locking up all those Droid users. I'm sure a lot of people didn't get them yet because of contract lock ups from their lastphone and those who wanted to get something better in a few months.

My contract dosnt end until the end of the year....I'm sure they will have an even better phone at that time.

Only thing that's gonna suck about that is the fact that ill have to change to another minute plan.....but at least ill be able to see what type ofchristmas specials will be available.

You know when the Bravo is slated to drop? I'm not trying to be fresh for a week... then outdated for 2 years

I was beyond excited when I first started hearing rumors of this phone, but I'm not blown away like I hoped to be.

It's still a great phone, and definitely the best, if not close to, Android device out there, but I just was hoping for something out of this world.

I wanted to wait for it and maybe pick it up, but I grabbed the BB 9700 a few weeks back and glad I did. I'll still hold out for the top of the lineAndroid with a great keyboard to T-mobile.

iphone > *

I'd rather kill myself than not have an iphone j/k, I have a blackberry

Do you work for Verizon? You know their marketing plans for the N1 now? You do realize that phone geeks don't worry about contracts, right?

And why do people take every chance to bring up the iPhone? Sure, its the most popular phone out now, and has been for some time. And that's all withgood reason. But why can't the N1 just be the N1? It's a good, solid device with better specs than the last hype phone (Droid). It doesn't havethe widespread appeal of the iPhone (nor will it ever) but who cares...that doesn't make it "nada".

I think I'ma wait a few weeks to see the reviews on this joint. I like to go to the store and mess with a device hands on before I throw down my loot, butunfortunately that isn't a possibility with the N1.

i dont work for verizon, i dont need to see the obvious things

verizon spent 100 million on marketing the droid, do you think they will spend another 100 million to market another phone with just better specs? the droidwill get the 2.1 firmware update soon

why did i bring up the iphone? obviously, its THE smartphone to beat, so YOU have to compare future competitor phones to it, and there will ALWAYS be phoneswith better specs, but that doesnt always mean its the better phone, there were many phones out there who all they do is copy the iphone, and 1 upped them inspecs, and failed

and i wrote NADA, because there is NO GAMECHANGER appeal in this phone, i didnt say it will fail, it wouldve made a splash in the game if the rumors were true(buy unlocked AT&T and tmobile for $199 while working for both networks 3G)

BTW, phone contracts do not matter to phone geeks, but the general consumer is what phone companies are after, phone geeks make up a small percentage of htepopulation, and even some of them wont shell out half a grand for a phone

if google wants to capture consumers, they have to do something dramatic, and the Nexus 1 is nothing new

Ughh if you go on the website to buy the phone now it does say it is coming out 2010 for Verizon ( I just thought id mention that ) You might havejus gotten GOT

With Verizon and Tmobile getting this phone, AT&T has basically secure rights to the iPhone. There is no way in hell they are gonna let any other carrierget the next iPhone BEFORE them or AFTER them. Anyways, more shots fired at the iPhone and Apple via Adobe:

I already have Tmobile on my iPhone and after what I saw today I'm seriously considering adjusting my contract for 2 more years to get this phone. Eitherthat or get the HD2 in spring. Sorry Apple, it was good while it lasted but I'm hanging up my iPhone
