"The Decision" in retrospect

at the end of the day if lebron wins rings in miami he made the right move, i could care less about the sidekick talk and all that b.s because lebron isn't a sidekick nor is dwayne wade, that whole batman and robin talk is dumb, if they both play a huge role and part in winning rings for their team then that's all that matters. regarding him leaving cleveland however, how he handled it, anyone who thinks "the decision" was an acceptable way to go about it is a damn fool and is letting their biased views affect their common sense but that's normal on here.

came in here to say SUBTLE KOBE BASHING thread. dude ignored everyones opinion on the first page except people who brought up Kobe.

Everyone hates hims now because
1) How he did it

2) He took the easy way out

3) He went to D-Wade's city and team

This thread makes no sense, like the OP's thesis is that the cavs suck now and the heat are good so the decision was actually a good move and everyone else was wrong.
What's your point??  No one said the decision wasn't a good move for Lebron personally or that the Cavs would have been better with him than Miami with him.  They just said it was a ******ed PR move and probably a **** move in general to put on a show like that.  Those people are still right.  No one's opinions about anything decision-related need to have changed.

There is NO WAY 'The Decision', as in the ESPN special was ever a good move.  Going to Miami, yeah, of course that was a good move if Lebron wants to win championships.

Doesn't mean we can't still hate him though.

EDIT:  Oh, and the fact that Miami is good and Cleveland sucks also doesn't mean that Lebron is suddenly any more of a man than he was when he decided to be Wade's sidekick

LeBron
: "Okay."

I don't think LeBron really outweighed the good and bad to come before actually doing "The Decision".
With that being said, I don't think he really thought about how fans would perceive it as a smack in the face or what not.
I still blame his management group more than I blame him for even allowing such a thing.

However, I'm not mad at all about LeBron's actual decision to go down to Miami to hoop. I actually respect that fact that he took the route of going to a place where he can win multiple championships with people who he actually likes as human beings.
This.
Seeing it put like this doesn't actually make it sound like a bad idea + he'd be raising money for the boy's & girls club (which he'd done on previous occasions).

Its not like he went on TV and called Cleveland a sh**hole or something. I understand that they feel rejected but the level of vitriol they spewed after the decision was out of line IMO.

The majority of fans there took it too personal to where they chanted negative %%** about dude's mom and family. The double standard is ridiculous by those fans yet they call Lebron the jerk.

He's just a damn basketball player.
ohwell.gif
He was just the only thing that the city of Cleveland had going for them. Now look at them

My opinion that Lebron is an ignorant, pompous **!%*!% will never change, but hey its not really his fault. Just look at his mom.

I just feel that if you're gonna %$+% on the town that did so much for you during your tenure there, at least give them a heads up and let them know beforehand that you would be taking your talents to south beach.

How exactly did he %*+% on the town? Don't say because he left with a special show on ESPN.
And what did Cleveland do for him that would not have been done in any other city that had the opportunity to draft a once in a generation athlete like Lebron?
You act like he needed Cleveland more than they needed him.

I've also never gotten the point of forming an opinion on someone you know from TV and only TV. You as an adult should know that the media dictates what they want you to see and how they want you to perceive someone.

If you know him personally, then I figure you entitled to your opinion on the guy, but all that here say stuff is irrelevant to me.

LOL at fans thinking they know these athletes personally.

Like I said, who gives a +!%@. He's a coward, couldn't even face his hometown crowd when they called his name
laugh.gif
that's a Sucka move. He couldve had a dynasty on another team with real fans unlike the city of Miami. Now he's in the same position he was in last year, if not worst - with a garbage team and no support from their fans.

I never said I personally know Lebron James, but when you're a celebrity, you're personality is gonna be judged by what people see when you're in public... And publicly, Cabron James is a pompous arrogant certified %@*-clown... and It's been published that Cleveland did everything they did during his time there to accommodate Bron Bron and his boy boys.

I definitely recognize that he is one of the top 2 or 3 players in the L right now, but he went about everything the wrong way and I'm sure he would say the same thing (whether he admits it or not).

why do people keep bringing up the fact that gasol led the grizzlies to the playoffs years prior? you guys act like the west is built like that nowadays.

roll.gif
Who's bashing Kobe? So if people don't say that Kobe is the best it's "Kobe bashing"?
laugh.gif
The dude is still a top 10 player and played better this season than last season. But to say that he plays with legitimate talent around him (including Gasol, who is at LEAST as valuable as he is) isn't "bashing", it's FACT. Fact that can be supported by plenty of evidence. Also, I love how some people are quick to hate LBJ for his flaws and yet are enamored with Kobe.

Way to root for a modern-day "saint" instead of the evil LBJ!

I can understand your judging from public perception but you must know from experience, perception is NOT equal to reality. Hell, just look in General, where some of these guys would have you thinking their the baddest guys around when u know in real life that ain't the case.
Of course all the jerk things you do will be magnified but I'm sure you never hear about good things he does. Does that mean he never does good things? Of course not.

Yea I'm sure he would do it over but for the life of me, I just cant understand the hatred that's come from people. I consider myself a huge sports fan and its a mystery to me. I just think its petty behavior.
