"The Decision" in retrospect

We all know how good of a player LeBron is. There's no denying his ability and talents, but what bothered me about "The Decision" was the simple fact that he went to Miami to win a ring knowing he would have two other excellent players with him. I mean if your as good as LeBron is and have Wade and Bosh on your side there shouldn't be any reason on why you can't win a championship.

However to me that doesn't make you an "elite" player as say Jordan or Kobe. When Kobe and Shaq were winning alot of people questioned if Kobe can do it alone. Kobe has proved he can win rings without Shaq. Jordan won them without superstars (You can argue Pippen, but that's another topic). Now we may never know if LeBron can do it "alone". I mean, we don't even know if he can do it with Wade and Bosh, but I'm thinking they might be able too.

Cleveland was winning with LeBron but they couldn't get over the hump? Is that the organization's fault? I don't believe so. Great players have the ability to get their team to the top, they make everyone around them better. LeBron was doing that in Cleveland, but he couldn' take them to the promise land. Was he frustrated he was in Cleveland? I don't know but if he believes he's the greatest then don't you think as the greatest he would do whatever possible to get Cleveland the ring?

I know this has been beaten to death before but I think he made the wrong decision going to Miami. To me it seemed like the easy way out to win a title while having tremendous amounts of fun at the same time. Now imagine if he took Cleveland all the way, that would have made him look that much better than him having a "part" in taking Miami all the way.

not that this topic hasnt been rehashed a billion times in the last year but... the above highlighted statement is WRONG

I'd say pretty much anyone outside of Cleveland didn't care that Lebron went to Miami to chase a ring.  It was the manner in which he did it that made him such a hated individual.

This.

THAT

He said in is first ever article that he would not rest until he brought a championship to the city of cleveland and he back out on it.

THIS

I didnt really care where he went and being from ny i was glad he didnt come to the knicks. He could have made a simple annocement but he made it all about him like he always does. Im sorry but im not a fan and this actually made me apreciate kobe more because you will never see him doing something like this.

No Kobe just goes on Radio shows and demands to be traded!! The Decision was a product of societies 24 hour coverage of everything that might become a story... The crazy thing is that millions of people watched the decision.

How many players in the nba nfl or even mbl have done this. Carson palmer said he is going to retire if they dont trade him. Making an event was uncalled for and for the cav fans was a slap in the face.

Most people hate him for the manner in which he left, not that he left. To have an hour special to rip the heart out of the city you played at for 7 years was ridiculous. It just wasn't very professional considering this was a business decision.

The people that hate him for joining Wade and Bosh are just haters. I want someone to name me a championship team that did it without another all-nba performer? The Pistons in the 00s is the only one that I can of but that was a well balanced team.

the whole ring arguement to me isnt the issue. It takes more than one player to win a ring there have been great players that never win one while there are "role players" that have won multiple.

robert horry has 7 does that make him a better player than the kobes, lebrons, dwades? no he just was in a good situation at the right time. Lebron wanted to put himself in a better situation.

I honestly believe Kobe did that just for the Lakers to make some moves --- he had every opportunity to leave in FA when times were rough but he re-signed

These guys had way more than LBJ did Cle.. The great ones did it alone argument is BOGUS....
