She had a run of four albums. It was spread out like crazy after the first three.
My Love was essentially a comeback album where they had to push her in the studio to work with the best of the best. Look at the album after where Clive was like **** it, despite what My Love did. Despite her signing one of those big Madonna/Janet contracts.
You can't Terrell Davis her and say, well what if she didn't get hurt. Bo Jackson, what if he played one sport and didn't get hurt. She could sing though. What she could have done with her voice. Dudes were putting up stats for 25 years
It stemmed from comparing Barry Gordy and Clive Davis. And I agree Clive had different genres, but Barry introduced the mount rushmore of R&B.

Sales of course mattered, but you can't look and see what a lot of those albums from the 60's and 70's were selling the first week or in total.
The sheer fact that Motown was putting out these albums like No Limit at it's peak shows you how they were doing.

Brandon Marshall faces his own criticism when he post it online. That's why you keep your parenting offline. Once you invite people in your house, it's hard to get them out. Besides possibly unnecessarily embarrassing him. Everyone has their own parenting tactics and a lot of people think their way is the way, but you might not see the results until later in life. We don't even know what he did. Kid might have been playing on his phone at 2am instead of sleep and that's why Brandon made him run at 2am. Since you want to be on your phone at 2am....

Yeah. Only thing B-Marshall did wrong was record it. Don’t tell me how to discipline my kids, especially if the criticism is coming from a lousy parent. Long as I know I made the effort.
Recording your kid in an embarrassing situation can be a defining moment in their life. Especially nowadays. Even though public shaming is damn near extinct because people don’t seem to even care anymore.
I’ll never forget I got a bad interim report in the 7th grade and my mom made me trim my hair. Still pisses me off to this day. I’m like, what did you accomplish by making me angry and dislike you in that moment. That same teacher has no influence on my life, I still was an excellent student. All it did was build resentment.
But yeah, B Marsh was right for making buddy run, wrong for recording.

I gotta hear the discussion but Whitney wasn't Bo Jackson. Whitney dropped MONSTER albums with multiple smash hit singles. She didn't need to drop every year or every other year. Her songs had staying power. Her impact is massive.
