The Combat Jack Show Thread

Freddie Foxx Episode

I'm on another forum and Combat has been chiming in on there regarding the recent episodes and whatnot. Real chill, down to earth dude

That use to be sohh?

Most of the cats on The Coli migrate from SOHH once it went to ****. That forum is everything I wish NT was, from the message board platform, to the smileys, the topics are a little bit more mature and radical than NT, but that's bout to be my new home.

SOHH was wack. AHH was the GOAT hip hop site and Boxden is number 2.

 The Pete Rock Episode

From Run-DMC to Kanye West, Soul Brother No. 1 been the go to guy to to make classic material. On top of that, how many countless producers he inspired, from legends like J Dilla and Kanye West to innovators like Madlib? #NeverForget the rap giants he helped birth, like NaS, and the Notorious B.I.G. Pete talks being raised by mentor/family member, the late, great Heavy D, and being encouraged to rap by Grand Puba, the true soul that went into producing "They Reminisce Over You", and the uncredited classic hits you know but didn't know was a Pete Rock production. Another session of Rap History is in effect, pull up a seat and learn about your culture.

Enjoy.

 The Common Episode

90 minutes wasn’t enough time. On the eve of releasing his tenth album ‘Nobody’s Smiling’, Common revisits his days growing up in Chicago, being inspired by Michael Jordan, house music, Chicago mayor Harold Washington, Rev. Jeremiah Wright and how this album addresses the current plight of black on black crime in the windy city. Also, what it means to reunite with No I.D., being haunted by the ghost of Emmett Til and the very real and deep mystical powers of the phenomena known as “Badu Box”. So much wasn’t covered, 90 minutes wasn’t enough, but you won’t hear this type of Common interview anywhere else on the planet.

Shows what Freddie Foxxx thought of the interview and he looked out...good stuff

And Dallas couldn't get the line up for his wedding :lol

Solid interview

Didn't even seem like it was three and a half hours. I did listen to it in spurts over the course of a day and a half though.

NT's own Ben Baller and Boaz

I know most of Ben's story from being on here for a few years, but I didn't realize how much of a music head he is. That was cool to find out
