The College Basketball Post

So if I can sidetrack this thread for a minute.

How are brackets supposed to be scored?

I'm kinda pissed because my money pool is scored 1-2-3-4-5-6. So even though I'm the ONLY person who picked Michigan to win tomorrow, I still will lose if they win.

Isn't it supposed to be 1-2-4-8-16-32?
Take a picture with that sign and I'll tell you

Yeah it should be the way you said with 32 for the 'ship.

My unofficial basketball resume. I know the game and I know what I'm talking about.

My Basketball “Resume”
Position: PG/SG/SF
Height: 6’6”
Playing Weight: 220-230 lbs

• Didn’t play H.S. Ball for my school, got kicked off team.
• One of the unofficial recruiters for Oak Hill set me up to try out
• Went to Mouth of Wilson and did work playing against current players
• Coach Steve Smith showed interest and tried to get me to go there
• My H.S. grades were so bad that Coach Smith couldn’t justify me getting a scholarship to attend Oak Hill (Oak Hill is a very expensive boarding school)
• Played in the same AAU tourney as Stackhouse, Ray Allen, Brevin Knight
• Did work and got a look from Lefty Driesell, former coach of Len Bias
• Received a scholarship to a Juco that was rated Top 25 the prior year
• Quit the team after one year and moved to ATL.
• Worked out in the same gym as the Atlanta Hawks
• Steve Smith of Michigan St. became my personal mentor after taking me under his wing.
• Worked out and taught by Coack Bill Hanzlik former ATL Hawks asst coach and head coach of Denver Nuggets.
• Played with Shareef Abdur Rahim and various overseas players at closed to the public hoop sessions
• Was back up Point Guard to Travis Best playing in the Atlanta Pro-Am tournament…Coach of team was Cliff Levingston who won a championship with Michael Jordan and the Bulls.
• Had a brief stopover at Fresno St when Tarkanian was coach. No more D1 Eligibility left so I just worked out with the program. Was considered part of the program anyway.
• Declared eligible for the NBA Draft
• Eventually got my first agent and went to various free agent camps for the CBA
• Worked out with and played against Jason Caffey to help him get back in game shape after hand surgery.
• Signed with the same agent who represented Ricky Price from Duke and Antonio Lang from Duke.
• Travelled to Manila to work out for teams in the PBA to sign for a 14k a month contract set up by my agent.
• Due to non-basketball reasons had to leave Manila immediately
• Eventually gave hoops up and went back to school and graduated Summa Cum Laude

Players played either with or against: Steve Smith, Grant Long, Shandon Anderson, Stephon Marbury, Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace, Jeff McGinnis, Travis Best, Cliff Levingston, Brian Oliver (Georgia Tech), Chris Herren, Courtney Alexander, Melvin Ely, Jamison Brewer, D.A. Layne, Dikembe Mutombo, Michael Phelps, Shammond Williams, Shammgod Wells (God Shammgod), Jason Caffey, Ricky Price (Duke), Antonio Lang (Duke), Ricky Moore (UCONN), Ed Cota.

So you were in that Chris Herren 30 for 30? Cool story

Actually I first met Chris at an AAU tournament...he played for BABC (Boston Area Boys Club), he was on the same team as Jamal Jackson (he got murdered, but used to be a STUD!!!) and Shannon (forgot his last name but he went on to play at Fordham). It was a coincidence that he was out at Fresno St. when I went out there, but he remembered me. The hoops world is small at a certain level...it's like a weird six degrees of separation type deal.

I know some of y'all are going to think I'm lying, but that was really my basketball past. I used to have the letter from the NBA league office after I declared myself eligible for the draft, but I lost if after moving around a lot. I'm one of the smart ones that went back to school and made something out of my life after hoops.

Where is the mentions of being a Special Ops Navy Seal or being personally asked by Coach Sumlin to mentor the young men of Texas A&M football...stop selling yourself short.

Was never a Navy SEAL or ever claimed to be I did other stuff for the Fed Govt', but yes I am at Texas A&M in grad school, and I said nothing about Sumlin asking me to mentor, I said I was going to try to be a positive influence on some of those who might not make it to the NFL to show them that there can be a nice life after sports if they take advantage of their education, like I'm doing now.
