Charles definitely had some money on that game

Yeah, from Kenny. That's why Kenny's reaction was the way it was and Barkley was on one. Took that dude's money.

Do any of you believe this is possibly "greatest championship game ever" or am I just personally surrounded by too many people who live in the moment? Serious.
Possibly the greatest ending ever next to the '83 championship. Best game ever? Kentucky/Arizona '97, Duke/Arkansas '94, Duke/UConn '99, Syracuse/Kansas '03, UNC/Illinois '05, Kansas/Memphis '08 all come to mind. Great game though.

I dunno. I know we are still in the moment but that was one hell of a game, and not just the end of it! I remember seeing a stat they pulled up probably like 13 minutes into the game and there was already 5 ties and 8 lead changes. That's pretty remarkable. Props to both teams. Must be heartbreaking for UNC but Nova really earned that win. Even with UNC's hot streak from three they were able to maintain composure. Nova did a great job at being patient in the beginning of the game and running the clock down low then drawing a foul from UNC. Brice Johnson may have the some of the best hops I've ever seen. He gets up so quickly it's like he's spring loaded. However, when things don't always go his way he is easily frustrated. Knew he'd be crying at the end of the game :rollin Great athelete, immature boy.

I might be biased since I was there but it was up there. I say that because it wasn't just a great ending it was a great game. It had it all, lead changes, runs by both teams, great individual plays, good coaching...the only downside for me was I thought some of the foul calls on UNC were ticky tack but I didn't have the benefit of watching on TV so I could be wrong.

I've probably watched every NCAA title game since I was like 8 or 9; I can't remember a better complete game. I may change my mind once I see the broadcast though.

Some of the foul calls on UNC were ticky tacky but that is what happens when you run the clock down. Those last 6-8 seconds the defense is on high alert trying to force the turnover and the offense is being extra aggressive trying to get to the basket or put up a shot. And because of this, there is more incidental contact which is really up to the refs to call. I think Nova did a great job forcing this scenario many times early in the game and causing the refs to call fouls on UNC that wouldn't necessarily have been called earlier in the possession.

No some of the calls were definitely bad, and they let Villanova get away with a lot of contact. Also there were a few travels that weren't called. One guy had to travel twice and double dribble for them to call it.

Great athelete, immature boy.
dude was crying because his mom passed away his senior year in HS. He dedicated his final game to her, unfortunately couldn't come out on top.

What school is bagging in state talent left and right these days?
It just doesnt happen
Well off the top of my head Washington got the whole Pacific Northwest on lock ...schools like UMD and Illinois been missin on in state talent for YEARS, one of the biggest gripes from each respective fan bases

Don't understand how ppl don't understand why ppl cry after losing games like that

Yeah, completely understandable considering all the time and work they put in to it. Plus the moment and journey to get there. As a senior there is no second chance.

You showed your immaturity with this one

There were two paige drives during the comeback that had a lot of body contact but weren't called on nova.

I believe Nova was in the bonus with about 10 minutes left in the game?

At one point in the game UNC had 8 fouls called on them in the span of 4 minutes and 5 seconds of game time.

The foul called on Isaiah hicks with 33 seconds left was utterly ridiculous. He played textbook defense. Textbook. Slid his feet step for step, hands held straight up, didn't even hit the ball but the nova guard bobbled it.

But what a shot by jenkins. I for sure thought it was going to OT.

Best championship game I've ever watched, minus the officiating.

man, I almost came to tears when the jenkins 3 went in lol.

Not saying that the refs cost us the game because the Tar Heels still had plenty of opportunities, but.....

In the first half at one point North Carolina got called for 8 straight fouls

Justin Jackson may have been hit on that last lay-up at the end of the half

Second half Kennedy Meeks gets called for a foul on a play that looks like it may have been a jump ball, then on the other end the same thing happens and its called a jump ball

Kennedy Meeks again gets called for a foul when diving for a loose ball

I feel like Marcus Paige was hit on a couple drives to the basket especially when he got that offensive rebound and put back

And then there is this

I know I am looking through North Carolina sunglasses but you have to admit 8 straight in the first half is a tough break. It seemed like everytime we hit a 3 in the first half a foul would be called on the other end

Anyway....

Congrats Villanova!

Welp it's good to know I'm not crazy. Whenever there was a switch and a Nova little guy got switched onto a Carolina big down low they were mauling UNC down there :lol only to get whistle on the other end on some light body contact. It was frustrating to watch up close but that's the breaks.

Biggest bad call in the game IMO. When they replayed that on the Jumbotron my section damn near lost it :lol

Yup...He's from the town where I went to undergrad and used to attend an elementary school on campus. Good kid. Think he could be a really good pro if he develops his post game and gets stronger. Dude's athleticism is off the charts.

Plus these are still mostly teenagers and this will most likely be the pinnacle of their athletic career.

It's not like they have million dollar homes to cry to :lol

you spend your whole college yrs with your team, on and off the court
it's not like the nba where it's a job and most guys have family to go to

Oh please :lol I understand the emotions and will never fault any one for crying win or loss after a game like that, and the whole journey of the season. All I'm saying is I've played against players who can't control their emotions like Brice Johnson, and I called it that he'd be in tears after that shot went in. I was correct. I did not know about his mother passing but that doesn't change my opinion. I didn't condemn him for it. Just laughing at the fact I knew he'd be crying and was right. He can't control his emotions on the court when things don't go his way. He's probably used to dominating in basketball his whole life so it's understandable. I am just pointing out a CLEAR flaw in his game. But he is young and hopefully gets his emotions under control in the future. Great player with a bright future. Wish I could jump like him :x :{ :smokin

Well that is kinda why UMD fell from the NCAA tourney for a while. Gary stop playing with the AAU coaches. The Rudy Gay recruitment left a bad taste in his mouth so he stopped. So the Team Takeover and etc, would go other places. Turgeon has def rebuilt some of those bridges so we will see when if they can keep a Jalen Smith in Maryland.

bro.. I don't know what game you were watching but he controlled his emotions the entire game. If anything he didn't even play with emotion.

That putback dunk he had plus the foul, I thought he would do his typical scream but he didn't.

now against ND in the elite 8. He lost his cool by throwing the ball up in the air.

But every team needs that guy that plays with that attitude, emotion and swagger to uplift the team.

Yep, you called it right lol. Bad calls/no calls have been pretty consistent the entire tourney, but what really had me heated was UNC's choice not to take advantage of those mismatches on so many possessions. They could've gotten their guards in major foul trouble. Nova hit so many tough shots that I lost count. Once that last shot went in, I turned off the tv, flung remotes off the table, and said absolutely nothing for the rest of the night lol.

Hey I'm just stating my opinion. I'm not talking about controlling his celebratory emotions. I'm saying I could visibly see him getting flustered, more than anyone else on the court, during the game. You can channel that energy for good or bad and unfortunately, for him, in this game I think Nova got the best of him. I'm in no way condemning him I'm just stating what I observed.

Brice Johnson is far from immature and controlled his emotions throughout his career. Provide some examples of his CLEAR flaws please.

Is Nova one of the first Championship teams that doesn't seem to have a NBA First Round Draft Pick player on it's roster?

You're correct. He's a stellar player who's had a remarkable career and will continue his bright future into the NBA. His game is flawless and emotionally, he's the Phil Ivey of basketball.

I don't have time for this today :lol If y'all wanna get all up in arms about MY OPINION so be it. It's not that serious to me I'm sure you all know much more about him than I do from the few games I've seen him play. Ignore me and carry on...y'all prolly right TBH
