Yeah I think you are being blinded by Marc's lack of melanin.
Skinny Marc Gasol has some of the quickest feet of any big in the NBA. You aren't going to find many bigs let alone 7-1 guys who move like Marc moves.
Marc and Towns have similar athletic profiles, not great or explosive leapers, but have quick feet, move well latterly and are extremly fluid and coordinated.

Agree with you that Gasol can move, but let's be honest, end to end, Towns is going to smoke Gasol. Second bounce jump, Towns IMO has the clear advantage. Not saying Gasol is a slouch athlete by any means
Also agree that both don't have explosive leaping ability but Towns can offensive tip rebound with anyone even at this age

Kevin Pelton threw out a Towns and Horford comparison a few weeks back. Besides the physical size difference, I see it. Coincidentally, both are Dominican too.

I guess I also see it as Towns having superior fast/quick twitch muscles. I feel like he can turn it on, 0-100, real ******* quick. I don't see Gasol having the agility that Towns has

Kevin Love also has a 36 inch vert. Lot of guys can put up solid vert numbers in a controlled setting.
Towns is probably a little more athletic, I still think functionally on a basketball court Towns and Gasol are really similar.
