so a player like john wall needs to work on his game more to be deserving of a contract that pays him more than reggie jackson?

I don't know what these dudes are talking about.

I've even see people bring up their stats, like there isn't also a thing called defense which Wall is elite and Reggie is a liability.
Same dudes are the ones that OD'd on Kevin Love's "stats" in Minny

There's a difference between saying you're underpaid and throwing someone else's contract as if that player doesn't deserve the money. If a NTer says Reggie is underpaid you guys hit that NTer with "you're worth what they're willing to pay you." John Wall says it and he's keeping it real. Nah.

Wall needs to quit crying. Dude's still making $80 mill and when his contracts up in 3 years he can cash in for all he's worth. What the Pistons pay for Jackson has no bearing on you or the contract you signed 2 years ago.

yep, the only bearing it has is on your future contract! Why is this so hard to understand?

I hate when folks get mad at someone telling the truth.

John Wall and Reggie Jackson shouldn't be making the same kind of money.

It ain't like he went after Westbrook or Curry.

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you can throw whoever under the bus.

Then, I bet people will get mad at Reggie and say he "weak" if he responds back to Wall and in his "feelings". :lol

I wonder how you would feel if someone publicly stated to your wife or family that their son or husband is overpaid. You going to be like "so be it :D ". Its still disrespectful :lol

westbrook and john wall shouldn't be making the same kind of money

john wall shouldn't be making way more than what curry makes

john wall shouldn't be making way more than what mike conley makes

Nahhh man, thats more of a reference to keep your head down and worry about you and have your eye on the prize. But thats not to say he doesn't need to work on his game. All players should be working on their games, right?
the whole keep quiet/keep your head down thing & worry about yourself is such a herd mentality that benefits the employer though

don't talk about it, don't make waves, just keep stay line, be a team player - corporate tactics 101

time to put the salary cap on hiatus. it's disporportionately benefitted "small market" teams to a lesser degree and every nba owner to a greater degree

QFT.

The first employed is the most experienced, yet most underpaid in my experiences.

the disparity between players making the minimum and those with multi milion dollar contracts is huge - way more former than the latter

who speaks for them? should they keep it to themselves too?

Ding ding ding

Not only that, yall are acting like Wall just said these things on Twitter or some ****, the interviewer asked him about the crazy FA.

I'd much rather an honest response like he gave than some robot athlete **** that most guys would've said.

Ok sport whats your point?

I'd have no issue if one of them said they felt that way.

Some of you dudes just try sooo hard.

This may just be too complex for you then. It has nothing to do with herd mentality.

This isn't a 1+1=2 equation. It's deeper. This idiot is caught up in the moment (wall). What he signed a couple of years ago doesn't matter

Hey let me negotiate my contract and and willfully sign it, no prob. Oh what, that guy is making as much as me!? i want more money boss! I won't follow the herd!!!

these owner are multi billionaires. billionarie status many times over

their hobby is owning a basketball team. like that's not even their prime source of income or wealth

owning an nba team a diversion for them. can you imagine?

yet we want to side with them when it's a matter of figuring out which players should take the okie dok and cave into their salary "limitations"

come on

You do realize speaking the truth is actually hurting him, right. Yeah let me bring attention to this so we can get everyone to realize how ridiculous our contracts are so we can have a lock out one day

Yea except that's not what he's saying at all.

Man, everybody talking about me getting $80 million and you got people getting $85 and $90 million that ain’t been an all-star or anything like that," Wall said. "I guess they came in at the right time. The new [TV money] kicked in at the right time. That new [TV money] kicked in and they’re good now. Like, Reggie Jackson gets five years, $80 [million]. Like, I’m getting the same amount as Reggie Jackson right now.

You can't be serious, there was going to be a lockout regardless, what he said literally has 0 effect.

Sit Down.

If a lockout is coming it won't be because John Wall doesn't like Reggie Jackson's deal.

And John Wall's gonna be getting max money for a while, it ain't hurting him.

I like Perry Jones to Boston. I already play with Boston in 2k so that should add a bit more diversity to the team.

John Wall needs to shut up.

The new TV deal didn't come out of nowhere, EVERYONE knew this was coming. His agent damn well knew and John Wall should have known.

If Wall wanted a shot at this new deal money he could have signed 1 year deals until he got to this year. but he didn;'t have the heart for that and took the money. So he has no right to be complaining.

In fact if I remember when Wall signed that first max deal he hadn't made an all star team either, and the Wiz hadn't made the playoffs.
