Another one that I feel will be a meaningful player for several yearsGrant is going to be a player, great size/athleticism, can shoot it, good in the PnR.
Curry carried a team full of nobodies to the Elite 8. Russell barely got his team past VCU. Russell will never be on Curry's level. Can Russell be a good pro? Sure, but he won't ever be as good as the greatest shooter of all time.
So if the Wolves pick Okafor at 1 then you wouldn't want Towns at 2? I really do think that's what's gonna end up happening. Then Russell for us at 3 and the Knicks are a wild card at 4.
Bro, Randle and Towns would be like a perfect matchYep. While I most certainly wouldn't be mad at all with Towns - would be more than happy if we landed him - I just feel that his game isn't on the transcendent level. He could be an Al Horford or better, but I just love Russell's game that much more. I think the flare he plays with is perfectly suited for LA, and I don't want to feel like we missed out on the most dynamic player in the draft just because we went safe with a big- seen it happen too many times.
Also, for selfish reasons, I want to see Kobe play with an elite point guard for once. We've seen what he does with elite big men, but we got robbed the chance of seeing him with an elite PG. GP and Nash both came and vanished into ashes on scene. CP3 never made it here. So he's played with Fish, Lue, BShaw, Ron Harper, SmushYou have to go all the way back to NVE but Kobe wasn't getting consistent minutes back then.
Last but not least, I like the prospect of drafting Russell then going into free agency and trying to land either Marc or DeAdre...
than drafting one of the bigs and then Mitch would probably sign Rondo
Elite Bigs > Elite PGs
Elite Bigs > Elite PGs

This is true but there's no certainty that Okafor is "elite". It's why you go with the best prospect and put that kind of stuff in your back pocket. If Okafor is simply good and D'Angelo is elite - you've made a HUGE mistake.
It's a coaching thing but the shots Curry made are why they got there. The man was unconscious that entire tournament. Texas lost cause of Barnes as we all know.Referencing that Elite 8 run is pointless. You remember KD's tourney appearance with Texas? That comparison holds absolutely no weight.Curry carried a team full of nobodies to the Elite 8. Russell barely got his team past VCU. Russell will never be on Curry's level. I don't want to start a debate with this but I think Marc stays with the Grizz, and Blake and DeAndre are extremely close friends and I can't see him leaving for the town rival. Okafor/Towns and Rondo is a much more likely scenario for the Lakers this summer.
