At the end of the day...the Bulls wanted to have their cake and eat it too. They had more than one offer for him yet really tried to sell him on taking $64-70M over four years. They also offered the LeBron deal (two years w/ a "promise" of the max in 2016), but Melo had no interest in going through it again and taking that risk.
Like I said...if they really wanted to get him all they had to do was make it a lot closer than what they offered. The financial sacrifice was too much to give up and Melo knows firsthand gutting the team to get there is not ideal. It just wasn't meant to be, I guess. He was the finishing piece that would've put y'all over the top (I said back then it was the best move for him, basketball-wise)...y'all still did fine in the offseason though.
I just find the opinions from NT financial experts hilarious. ****** are liars man.
Melo played a part in why the Knicks are so bad by not waiting until free agency.
Amare has played more games than rose the last two years. Melo wasn't taking that much less to go to Chicago. I'm not sure why people are shocked. It was a significant amount of money. Not anywhere near the money bosh wade and lebron gave up
Not pretending to be competitive, signing terrible contracts to bubble "stars" to get an 8th seed while messing up your chances to get a potential franchise changing player. The league revolves around having a top 3-4 player, you're not winning anything without one and no one is going to Philly.
6ers plan: Tank until something happens.
Seems legit.
Yeah, without a doubt. But all these "HE ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY, NOT WINNING!!!!" when speaking on that situation is so fraudulent.Of course, hard to turn down that money but I feel the Bulls right now with Melo (minus Gasol obviously) would be the best squad either the Knicks or Bulls would put out regardless of cap space. At the end of the day...the Bulls wanted to have their cake and eat it too. Like I said earlier these rotations are funny. This has to be at the top of David Blatts list cause this isn't working
smh this doesn't even make sense. it's like something a little kid would say
