 @ no right randle being the 1st or 2nd most nba ready player in the draft

Thread is hilarious all ready

This is just a few minute search of the words NBA ready. Didn't look at immediately produce or any of that.

Yet Randle also projects to potentially be one of the most NBA-ready players of the rookie class.

Randle is one of the most NBA-ready players in this year’s Draft.

Lakers SB Nation before the draft
He’s among the most NBA-ready prospects in the draft this year

They loved Smart last year. Smart is more NBA ready than Exum. He, along with Jabari Parker and Julius Randle are the three guys who I think come in and have a big impact from Day One on a team.

But I think he's one of the two or three most NBA-ready players in the draft.

.@sheimans: who's the most nba ready player right away in top 6? ---> Randle and Parker... then Wiggins, Smart

It was a widely accepted notion that he was at the top of most NBA ready players in the draft

Regarding Randle, after reviewing some of his games at UK and watching him in summer league I get a David Lee vibe from him with a more brute and ball handling capabilities mixed in.

6'9, mobile, left handed, good-not great athlete, struggles against length, interior scorer, capable ball handler, good passer, rebounds well, slow reaction on help defense, not a rim protector. A talented, but flawed player in today's NBA. So basically a high level starter, maybe a fringe All-Star if everything goes well.

I can already tell Mirotic is going to be one of my favorite players. Lost some weight, pulling from 3 like it's nothing. Hope he really shows out.

Thomas Robinson, Derrick Williams and Evan Turner were "Most ready to contribute right away".

That's just a label that I have grown to dislike now.

I thought Evan Turner was gonna be better than John Wall

I've said it a bunch of times but if there was any NBA player I've been wrong about these past few years it's definitely John Wall. Was not sold on him at all. He's proven me wrong

Respect for admitting when you're wrong, and not coming up with a litany of reasons why that didn't happen....we need more of that around here.

I still don't think Turner is a pile of dog doo like NT likes to call him.

Me neither, he just had to the goods and failed to deliver. Everyone just needs to be flat out wrong about a player once, and then they'll learn their lesson. You saw people in the NBA draft thread and the offseason stuff saying all types of craziness about Wiggins, and once DSK or JD dig up those posts in 7 years theres gonna be some people looking silly.

Blake F'N Griffin

LMAO

...and why the **** are you comparing him to a rookie who just played his first pre-season game? Griffin does NOTHING but dunk the ball when he first came in. He's go to move is spinning lay-up for crying out loud. He did have a great season last season but hyping him up like Duncan, Dirk and Love never existed..

lemme buy a tissue to wipe your mouth with...geezz

What does this mean? These are the same ppl that had thabeet as a top 5 pick

Randle is the epitome of bully ball, nothing but a energy guy

There are SOME Griffin-esque elements in Randle's game.

Struggle footwork is all i see, randles shot is more developed at this stage i give him that & he has a quicker first step than blake but besides that...........its disrespectful

This is exactly like when some NTer was ready to fight me because I called him out for disagreeing that Anthony Bennett was Larry Johnson Jr. and that the athleticism was similar. Exactly the same situation lol

uh no.

That person wasn't understanding that NBA caliber bigs will do things they will never do in college or the pros, that has nothing to do with comparing an undersized athletic PF, who shoots threes to another undersized athltic PF who shoots 3's.

I see a similar face up game and the ability to grab a rebound and start the break. And I guess similar defensive issues.

I agree that he has more similarities to Blake's game. I also agree on the David Lee comparison as well. I think the Zbo comparison simply comes from the way he looks more so than anything  . If he was light skinned, you would hear even more Blake comparisons.

Don't think that spo dares to try ennis with few minutes but if he does....

He'll likely take around the same minutes Ray did or more

Uh, yes. If you want to think that, cool.

I just had a 2 long page convo with this guy telling me that Randle and Blake are similar athletically. I had just as long a convo about Larry Johnson vs. Anthony Bennett athletically 2 years ago. Dude swore up and down Bennett was some sort of freak athlete

This what gets me. No, that wouldn't be the case lol, or if it was, it would still get blasted just like it did last night. They don't play similar besides the struggle post game and dipping their shoulder.

Randle plays below the rim while Blake does not. Randle although still extremely raw, has a lighter touch around the basket and has to use more craft. Blake started off all athlete and is just now starting to evolve his under the rim skill set.

They are not too much alike. Of course they share some attributes but it's a terrible comparison. David Lee is a much more reasonable comparison. Lee also had that dunk contest type athleticism that didn't necessarily translate to 5 v 5 games. Just like Randle. They both play under the rim.

And sure, Randle or Lee might get a poster or two along the way but that won't be the norm like Blake.

Blake jumper looked real good last night just quick not a lot of hesitation.

I always felt like Blake would improve the jumper. I want to see him be a defensive beast, though.

What does this mean though? I could do this about a ton of players who ended up being rotation guys and not whom we expected them to be.
