STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Is your outside broken?

j/k - that’s a lot of miles on a stationary bike though. I get bored way before then - even this time of year I prefer riding outside. Really windy today which made my ride home a challenge but it gets the cobwebs out.

I slowly wake up at around 4 am daily.

I live in a hotel now... and make it down to the gym at around 5:30.

I like exercising early... but it is still too cold to ride my outside bike at that time... so I just use the bicycles that they have in the gym.

I use my outside bicycle to mainly go to the store or to joyride... not so much for challenging rides.

Just saw a short on this...y'all believe it?

nah, how would they even reasonably quantify or verify this? i’ve see similar things where it is stated they are more millionaires than men that have visible abs, i think they’re likely estimating based on bmi and or level(s) of body fat being that the average man/american is overweight but ab genetics vary & depending on the what is meant by ‘visible abs’ i think more people qualify

That number is way too small, seems like marketing. I'm sure it doesn't take into account people like farmers, oil rig workers etc. Folks ripped just off the work they do.

yea i saw the stat 2% of men have abs and 8% chance of being a millionaire but I dont know either to be true. i know more than 13 people and none are big M’s, but I can see my abs a bit in the morning through the about half inch of fat in the way you can see them when you get under 18 (multiple inbody scans have me between 13.5-14.5% but I dont think I am that lean unless the almost no visceral fat is true and the subc/visceral has me looking more a few percentage points more puffy. Legs and back are ripped though just chest and abs have fat i can pinch. Wanna get down to like 10% before end of Q1 2025

I try to think about the population as a whole. If you go to the gym almost every day (like probably most in this thread) then you are more likely to have or see people with six pack abs. Then gyms in general will be different. I bet more have abs at "serious" gyms than like Planet Fitness. You can also be very fit/strong and not have a 6-pack. That's just considering gym go-ers. If you count all men at all ages working all jobs it will be very rare IMO. Plenty of dudes who work physical labor type jobs like construction have beer bellies.

granted it is probably still not a lot of guys that are walking around w/resting abs, maybe it is 0.1% of man that are able to stay lean/shredded @ sub 10% but i think it’s probably around of 5% of men that possibly fit that description & probably as high as 15% that under certain conditions could make the cut

ran a full court game for the 1st time in a long while, 😮‍💨😅 cardio definitely lacking, i was feeling cooked!

protein stocked

I'm competing in early January in gi and no gi the same day. I'm just hoping everyone is out of shape. I'm going to keep training and working out through the holiday weeks.

Just make sure they serve some good food at my funeral.

def BS

I'd say 40% of guys who workout have visible abs

and yeah hella skinny doods have visible abs STOCK

Gun to my head and I had to bet, I'd say maybe like 20-25% of ALL men (workout or not) have visible abs

Yea if you do any type of consistent cardio you should have abs. Highly dependent on age and body type but I agree that number seems very underestimated.

40% though? In America? Aint 2/3rds of us obese? 1 of 4 even seems very high but if that’s your circle, great circle to be in

i can lightweight see mine in the morning relaxed, i can flex or move and make them peek a little more but I still need to lose 10+more lbs or 4-5% bodyfat. Right is 291lbs, left is 215lbs. 180 cm tall

nah, ‘overweight’ perhaps but not obese…plus i think they use bmi to classify but it is an overly simple metric…i just think if you were to just take 100 men at random i think it’s way more likely that 15 of them would have some semblance of ‘visible ab’s’ than 15 of them being millionaires 😂

been watching a few of noah lyle’s live streams, interesting seeing the types of things in his training
