Twitches could be due to lack of potassium, I guess. Minerals are important.

Do you or any of the big boy squatters in here have any tips for keeping your hips happy after/during heavy squats?

Anyone dealt with tennis elbow or elbow discomfort? Have given myself the week off from lifting to see how it reacts.
Finally quit being a little b**** and scheduled my CSCS exam. Also gonna get my USA Track & Field Level 1 cert (looks good on paper), trying to decide btwn the infamous FMS (functional movement screen) cert or the CES (corrective exercise specialist) cert. Also a nutrition cert, look at Precision Nutrition. Then i'm done with certs unless a school will pay for me to take the SCCC. Only ones I have right now are my USAW and the NSCA-CPT.
I know certs don't mean jack when u don't know what your doing but I have a master's, over a year of D1coaching experience and a former D1 athlete so i'm just trying to put together a nice resume. Just need to get this violation expunged of my record (reason I had to leave my first D1 coaching job) and I should be good.
@Durden7
have u ever thought abt being a team SC? Thinking about exploinetring the private sector with this "time off" to decide if I like it better.
That's part of the profession at that level though, motivating players and getting them to buy into the system and philosophy. Yea every team is gonna have their headaches but you do everything you can with those guys and if it doesn't work and they don't budge then chances are they won't be there long anyway. It's extremely rare for a player to do what he's supposed to do off the field and with his position coaches where he's a productive player but a headache with the strength coach. The strength has a lot of power with a team, more power than people would think because they coach and interact with the players more than anybody.Ive thought about team strength and conditioning, but the issue I have with things like that is the job is essentially adult babysitting. We all have an interest is exercise/fitness and for someone whos interested in the field of S&C theres obviously a high interest in that type of fitness, but when you work in that field not everyone has the same passion. Youll have a few people who are legitimately interested in getting stronger/faster/etc., but youll also have your fair share of people who are there because they have to be and will do a damn good job of making your job difficult. Those people are tough to fall in line.
In professional and most college S&C areas, youre the fall guy and the first coach to be fired when a season doesnt go as planned. Much like other jobs, its totalllly about who you know and not what you know. If you look at some of the resumes and past experiences of some of these coaches, its baffling how some get the jobs yet theres a ton of highly qualified people out there. (Thats the deal in almost every profession though)
In regards to certifications, get a quality certification, and just get to work. I wouldnt focus on getting too many certifications right away. It's likely going to be a waste of time and money for you.
my reps are getting up there
all i do is compound work these days, then i usually end with a heavy rep......so like 405 deadlift and 275 incline this week, thats at the very end of working sets when im usually fatigued an i do like 1-3 reps, my goal isnt strength but more endurance an athletism these days

They're all gonna be pretty much the same unless you get a rumble one. Just google and buy the cheapest one.

I have the opening game of my soccer season this sunday against the current national champs. I desperately need to be 100% by sunday
I sit down in a squat for a few minutes before and after squatting. Also rock back and forth to get a good range of stretch in.
