HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS THREAD EXISTED?!?!?!?

I am so happy I found you guys :evil

I am embracing the Star Wars talk in all its glory. I have plenty of catching up to do in this thread.

Who's been reading the canon books/comics? Thoughts so far?

So far, I'm liking the Darth Vader series more than the others, and currently going through Tarkin (audible), with Heir to the Jedi next and really looking forward to Lords of the Sith. I liked A New Dawn, albeit not much action but it was cool getting to know the characters backstories before Rebels.

ok ok, I'll stop rambling. My nerdgasm just exploded that I found this thread along with a few others haha :p

Walter..

Opened up literally the day of the sale to Disney. Welcome in man.

I haven't started on the new books yet, but will be shortly once I locate them in a group. (I usually wait to pick up 3-4 at a time)

There's only 100 or so pages of this thread, so if you really do read all of it, should take you a while. Good luck man. :lol

Sick.

I really, really, really, REALLY, hope that we get a truer version of the Stormtroopers. The ones we were promised by Obi Wan, when he mentioned the accuracy of their shots and what not. For all 3 films, all they did was act like a bunch of teenagers and get shot up all the time, while not being able to hit the broad side of a barn. :lol

I want lethal storm troopers, just once in my life on film. (perhaps a spin off film of their own? 8o )

Haha wow I was in Management class the day that happened, it was awesome news.

I've been buying the books in audiobook format on audible. The music and sound effects in the audiobooks make them worth the listen, perhaps even as you follow along in your book. I listen while at work, I tend to mix it up between music, podcasts, videos, and audiobooks. In between when I finish a Star Wars book and for the next one to come out I just listen to another book.

What do you guys think the Rogue One spinoff film is going to be about? Still about stealing the Death Star plans? I think so, maybe even throw in some bounty hunters in there that tag along with the Rebels, or have bounty hunters try to stop them. Mainly got these theories from podcasts I listen to, I really don't like reading much of the spoiler potential news so that's really my only avenue to get speculation info from.

Walter..

My "guess" from a while back is, they could try and cast actual people to play the characters they've given us in Star Wars Rebels. And have THEM be the ones that steal the plans to the death star for Ep IV. 8o

Again, that's just me throwin stuff and seein if it sticks.

Outside that, I would assume new characters, side pieces, that they will eventually tie into the main cast over time, and lead a new generation of Star Wars stories to tell.

Nice, plausible. A lot can happen between the timeline Rebels is in and the events leading up to that point. I don't think the group is going to stick together, definitely don't think Kanon or Ezra are going to be around, get killed off, or go in serious hiding since they're Jedi. It would be crazy if Ahsoka and Darth Vader face off at some point in the series or in the spin off.

I need rebels to hit netflix. I feel so behind

It's all about that binge watching life! The series starts off with a clear touch of Disney geared towards kids, but gets darker as the season ends, definitely worth the watch and ends with crazy potential for the following season(s).

I'm with you there. You're going to love Rebels by the end of season one. The Clone Wars was fantastic. We actually got to see the bond between Anakin and Obi-Wan that Obi-Wan so fondly talked about lol and how badass of a pilot Anakin was. Ahsoka's development in the series was pretty cool too. Then the final season was really dark and badass.
Have you seen the series in chronological order?

If not, check it out: http://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder

I'm going to watch it in order soon, supposedly it's a very different experience than watching it season by season.

Maybe by the time you're finished watching the series in chronological order Rebels will be up on Netflix haha you never know.

Man I hope Boba Fett gets out of the sarlacc pit like he does in the legends stories. That way he comes back in some way in the movies. :smokin

He did in the Episode VII video game for the N64(?) if I remember correctly

Aw man Rogue Squadron and Shadows of the Empire were my jam on N64. I don't remember that in any of the games I played, it has been a while. Disney needs to make him surviving the sarlacc pit canon 8o

Walter..

Between that, and the Batman/Superman trailer, the internet is gonna be dancin today. :lol

No ****? Happy Birthday man. Hope we get an incredible 2:30 trailer that leaves us all breathless today. :Nthat

Happy bday, FC.

Anyway, Kylo Ren has the potential to be what Darth Maul was supposed to be as long as his character's given respect, unlike most SW villains.

For starters, he needs to be in multiple films, ala Vader to fully showcase the true menace.

And not be an 82 year old man like Dukoo was. :lol :{

Defeated like Vader in ep IV is fine, but back for more like V is better than killing him off and ending his story.

From numerous podcasts that I listen to, there's speculation, that Kylo Ren isn't Sith but a Sith artifact collector, that he's searching for holocrons, scrolls, etc. and that he found that ancient crossguard lightsaber. Which is all awesome. I sure as hell wouldn't mind seeing him be a serious Sith.
Maybe Darth Plagueis wasn't actually killed by Lord Sidious (Palpatine) and really did find the key to immortality and comes back to the Universe.

Had Maul been the villain throughout at least Ep 2, the prequels would have been THAT much better..ugh such a waste.

Walter..

Maul is the one of the only cool things from the prequels.

Grievous was interesting but I have no idea why he just popped outta no where in the 3rd movie.

These posters got me hyped tho
