So the new cannon is underway, and the first post Rotj novel has been announced

Journey To The Force Awakens - Star Wars: Aftermath

Synopsis:
The second Death Star is destroyed. The Emperor and his powerful enforcer, Darth Vader, are rumored to be dead. The Galactic Empire is in chaos.

Across the galaxy, some systems celebrate, while in others Imperial factions tighten their grip. Optimism and fear reign side by side.

And while the Rebel Alliance engages the fractured forces of the Empire, a lone Rebel scout uncovers a secret Imperial meeting. . . .

Interested to see how they maneuver thru this. Lookin forward to it regardless.

Please show the "God-status" Luke that was described in the novels. Dude was a beast!

Please god no.

Once they start making these dudes "god-like" like that one rumor that said Luke could move mountains, then you start getting into the "ridiculous" territory and you might as well be watching DBZ.

I'm pretty confident the new story group will not do that to these characters.

If it's executed well, I say why not. But, the authors of the novels kinda backed the franchise into the wall with the descriptions of the best sith-lords and Jedi feats.

I want to see that type of stuff... But only one jedi and one Sith... Anymore it would be dbz territory...

Leave all that crazy **** to the Marvel movies.

See, the movie rumor about moving mountains or whatever, that's not where the books went at all, but, Jedi and Sith are extremely powerful, and should be shown as such.

I dunno about the whole mountain thing, I mean, yes that would be a bit much, but I mean, Yoda picked a spaceship out of the mud at 700 years old. That's kinda powerful, ya know? Palpatine was shootin lightning from his fingers. Maul was an acrobat type. We didn't have Sith or Jedi flying or anything.

If done right, Luke were to rebuild the Jedi, say there are a planet full of Sith somewhere, then it would make sense to have extremely powerful Force users, that can do extraordinary things.

To me, the video games were the ones that went over the top a little, like Force Unleashed. Grabbing and throwing Star Destroyers, for some no name Jedi? Eh, that's a bit much. If Vader did it tho, would it bother me? Naw. I expect that, from someone that powerful.

If Luke leads a new Jedi for 40+ years, I EXPECT him to be one of he most powerful and successful Jedi/Force users ever. But he wasn't doin anything way out there. He was just very spiritually strong, very wise, very honed with his abilities to read minds, or project himself, and he did a few Force techniques that were sort of difficult to explain, but like I said, 40+ years, he should have that kind of power, skill, knowledge, ya know?

I don't know where JJ will go with it all, but I actually do want extremely enhanced, powerful, Force skills to be showcased, at some point within the new storyline. How/Who/When? That's up to them obviously. But I don't want just hand tricks, or "These aren't the droids you're looking for", or please pass the salt with your mind type boring ****, I want in depth stuff, old stuff, legacy stuff to start to trickle into the universe. The overall point is, The Force is a strong *** thing, and Jedi/Sith are adept at powers we know nothing about. They shouldn't be limited to boring stuff that was thought up in the 70's. They should be expanded upon to show what one might do, with the right mindset and training thru the Force.

I'm 100% fine with their powers to go as far as we saw in the prequels. Maybe a little more enhanced especially from Luke.

:lol

I just don't want to see Jedi or Sith doing Superman type ****, making them damn near invincible. Then you have to OD on special effects and what not just to show a fight sequence. I don't want this to become Marvel or Transformers.

Wasn't that one of the biggest complaints about the Prequels anyway? "Too much CGI". You guys trying to see a Neo vs. 500 agents type scene?

They aren't meant to be much stronger than they were shown in the movies or else GL would have shown us with prime Obi and Sidious in the Prequels.

Taking it a lot farther then that wouldn't really fit into the galaxy based on what we've seen already. There is NO reason to make them god like.
